Randomly popped into my while I was enjoying a nice bath, could a hot bath somehow flush out his sperm or kill them while they're on their journey to your egg?
I don't think your uterus fills up with water during a bath, so I'd say no, I'd also play it safe and not take a bath for a couple of hours after intercourse.
Randomly popped into my while I was enjoying a nice bath, could a hot bath somehow flush out his sperm or kill them while they're on their journey to your egg?
This is a quote from Web MD from a quick Google search on the matter:
"It's good advice to lay in bed for 10 to 15 minutes after intercourse, but you don't need your feet in the air," Goldfarb says. "Your pelvis does not move when you put your legs in the air." Don't go the bathroom during this time either, he says. "If you wait 10 to 15 minutes, the sperm that is going to get into the cervix will be in the cervix."
Sarcasm... Not needed. But thank you to the other ladies, playing the waiting game right now with my period is driving me nuts and I needed the reassurance. Wish me luck!!

Randomly popped into your... what? vag?
The sperm are already well on their way to your ute and tubes, at a microscopic level, before you even get up from the bed - just as there's no need to hoist your ass up in the air for any time after sex to help the sperm along, there's absolutely no way having a bath will affect anything way up in there. Your vag does not suck up water - seriously, you should know this, it's not like a woman gets up from a bath and water gushes out, KWIM? The vag is a self-contained place that pretty much repulses anything entering unless it's purposely pushed in (e.g. peen, fingers, douche). Have the bath FFS!

Of course I don't think it fills up with water, never said I did. I've heard about not douching or getting in a hot spa after sex.... Valid question.
When someone asks a question that you feel deserves scrutiny or criticism, there's always a back button. Just saying.
You put stupid question in the title of your post, therefore admitting it was a stupid question to ask and you likely already knew the answer. What were you expecting? Plus when you put 'be nice' in the title, you're asking for some eye rolls and sarcasm to head your way. Don't take yourself so seriously, you really do need a sense of humour if you're going to stick around this place!

All I'm saying is yes, I thought it may be a stupid question but still wanted a weigh in.
We're all on this TTC board bc we're trying to become mothers. I just don't see why that brings out the negativity in some people.
I for one, post on this board because I'm looking for constructive advice.
Thanks
What a sheltered life you must lead if you think sarcasm = negativity. Methinks you're too delicate a flower for the interwebs, seriously!

It's ok, thank you to those who answered objectively and I wish you the best of luck conceiving this month, to those of you who didn't I also wish you the best of luck as well.

That is a great way to get a UTI. Please get up to pee after sex. The sperm are on their way to where they need to be.
I must admit that I haven't been waiting the 10-15 minutes because I have been seeing conflicting medical opinions on the wait time. Therefore, I usually get up to use the bathroom within 10 minutes and I have never had a UTI. I figured since it was from WebMD and it seemed to relate to the OP's question that I would post it. Glad that you and @LittleBunnyFuFu set the record straight.
Not necessarily. I'm here for the sarcasm. And what does 'here for the same reason' have to do with anything? Just because this is a board for TTC doesn't mean we all have to subvert all common sense and sing kumbaya while circle jerking and wallowing in glitter and unicorn jizz. There are other boards for that, maybe you should find one. Babygaga or babycenter might be more your speed.

I have a tendency to visualize whatever I am reading and it's going to take awhile to get that image out of my head haha :-O
I've heard about the whole "elevating your hips for 15 minutes after sex" thing and I admit I have tried it. All I got was discomfort in my legs and tail bone! Why is that such common advice?

No, it is not a valid question. And I noticed you liked that idiocy about propping your hips, so your lack of intelligence on this topic is clear.
Welcome to not being in Kindergarten. Life must really, really suck for you when someone IRL tells you that you asked a stupid question when you indeed asked a stupid question.
