random visitors..

Any one else really getting fed up with random people showing up to meet baby without giving a heads up? I am pretty sure I had some ground rules set up, like no visitors for a week.. Instead I'm being bombarded by DHs family. He's pretty tired of it and had spoken to them about it but just today alone his brother, wife and two kids randomly stop by. Didn't even knock just came straight in.. I had my Boob out because I was nursing so I had to scramble for a cover. Then their kids start trashing my living room and winding up my toddler.
We made them leave after a few minutes but holy crap!

This is why I am glad we live an hr from everyone and it is not easy to get to.  You have to plan to come see us and thankfully dh's family feels we live too far away.

Ugh, that sucks. My family lives an hour and a half away, but DH's family is in our city. It hasn't happened to us yet but I know it will.

I read somewhere that when they are at the door, make DH answer the door while you take LO to your bedroom and lie down, keep it dark, and just act like you are tired and staying in bed all day. That should keep the visit very short and makes the unwanted visitor feel bad enough to call next time since they caught you on a bad day. I love this idea! Good luck!

So, don't kill me, but we keep our door locked, specifically so people can't just come right in. I would start doing that if I were you, exactly for the reason you just stated OP.

My BIL and his family did the same thing. Luckily our doors were locked but I was napping with LO they woke us up. Highly annoying.

We had a lovely neighbor pull up and blow the horn for me to come out there with LO. The first time DH wasn't home and I just peeked, saw who it was and laid low!! Lol I'm pathetic! The second time, yes second time she blew the freaking horn to summon me to her car DH was home and went and told her that LO and I were asleep. And let the record show, she has no physical ailment preventing her from leaving the vehicle. I would've gladly skipped out to see her under that circumstances. And she's not even our friend, she's DHs dads and stemoms friend. People are crazy!!

No on randomly shows up, but my dad's been making a habit of texting me just as he leaves his house to come see us...with no prior warning. He's done this while I was out of the house...and I told him that I wasn't home and didn't know when I would be. He then sat in my driveway waiting and got pissy when I didn't come home after an hour. I'm sorry. Let me cut my visit with my grandparents short just b/c you snap your fingers.

I'm actually giggling inside right now because I took my toddler and lo out to the park so she could run off some energy and got a call from DH saying they had randomly showed up again and were butthurt I wasn't there. I'm (not) so sorry you walked 1.5 miles in 90° heat to my apartment only to find me gone. Lol.

I'm so glad that last week I was readmitted to the hospital to stop seizures from happening and my grandmother got upset not because she was worried about me.. but because she didn't get to come see the baby. I let her bully me into coming down this week while DH is at work... I don't want her here, I want to recover, but I know it's not going to happen until I can get her to STOP CALLING ME(aka let her come over and torture me).  I almost hope my check up goes badly Wednesday so I can call and cancel.  Also she pulled the "I know your mother came down Saturday" as an excuse that I should open up to visitors.. my mother came down for her 50th Birthday to sit with me because I wasn't allowed to be home alone with my own baby on Saturday due to new medications... while she was here she put away my laundry, did my dishes, cleaned my floors, and bathed my baby because she needed one and I hadn't had the energy to get up and do it for a few days.... my grandmother is going to come down, want to hold my child, and then demand to be entertained.... and also complain about me breast feeding because "why would you do that when you can just give them formula?"

I know!!! What is people's obsession with this? It's so weird!! I'm really sad that breastfeeding didn't work out for me. I would never get satisfaction out someone not being able to breastfeed either! That would be crazy!!

I had a doctor at the clinic, (not our regular doctor, mind you), tell me that I needed to supplement with DD on day 3 b/c she hadn't gained any weight. Of course she hadn't Bitch, she just got released from the hospital 12 hours ago, she didn't have a CHANCE to gain any weight yet. Were you any kind of doctor, you would realize that. Went to her two week appointment this morning and Miss Kaelyn has gained over a pound back with no supplementation whatsoever. Screw that fucking doctor, and my DH for agreeing with her and trying to get me to do it.

If you don't have a need or a want to supplement, you don't have to. As long as your baby is growing well, people should leave us alone

Freaking serious? I would have gotten quite stabby with the both of them.. My DH seems to be stuck on the whole you can't be making enough milk why is she screaming stage.. I'm dealing with engorgement that is horribly painful and I have to pump before my boobs are even small enough for her to latch. I'm pretty sure she's eating enough..
Also whoohoo! To baby weight gain!! My lo is icky a week today and has a check up next week. Fingers crossed she's still close to birth weight. With all the nursing she does she better be lol.. A 9 lb baby eats a ton... My first daughter was 7.10 and I don't recall her being so nurse happy

We live 10 hours from our nearest family -- so we are safe from this.  We have been able to stall friends who wanted to stop by simply by letting them know that I didn't feel up to company at this time.    Seriously -- I really just don't want to get out of my pj's and have to do my hair and face and look presentable.

If they show up unexpectedly they get to just desk with a grumpy me in my PJs with my messy hair. I learned that gets them out kinda fast

@kateronium ... Oh-I was so stabby that I had a melt down the next day when something else went wrong. When I get really upset, I have tendency to cry, and I started tearing up. DH and I had a huge blow up when we got home, but he finally understands where I'm coming from and that sometimes, his opinion is just not needed in certain situations.
