B.t.d.t. moms: When did you older kid(s) first somersault?

It appears d.d.'s trying to somersault.  Wasn't expecting her to attempt this at this age.  When did your kid(s) first try this?

18 ish months. Maybe a bit earlier. Did your DD walk a bit early? Eliza started walking at nine months so she picked up on gross motor fairly early. Except for jumping. Took her quite a while to jump. Later than most kids born the same time.

She can kind of jump if she's holding onto our cube table/storage thing, or the seat of a chair, but I don't think her feet leave the ground yet.

Abby has tried. I think Alex just tilts his head for now lol.

DS was in gymnastics at 18 months so don't know when he did it independently

Gavin's been trying lately too, but I think it's cause he sees Corri doing it. Corri did at around 15 months because we were in little gym with her and she learned.

My 7yr old SD just figured out how to do one....

Ben loves getting into the position to do a somersault. He has since before he could even walk. I think he likes the sensation of being upside. I don't know if he's ever actually seen a somersault to do one, though.

Just before he turned 3, but he's slow in gross motor skills.

Ah, maybe that's it then.  She's only seen me do one once.  She looks like she's gonna accidentally do one soon then, l.o.l.

Lily is the same way. She tries but pretty much flops to the side. She's my cautious little girl.

I just asked her to do one and she's actually almost there.

My Ivy tries and flops, she is cautious too. I've tried to help her, but she hates being helped, miss independent.

This is Adrian too. I never really thought about somersaults, I just always say "yoga baby!!" every time he does it, which makes him laugh.

Isaac is so close it scares me! The other night dh and I almost hurt ourselves trying to show Isaac a somersault. I couldn't even follow through. Lol.

Zack has also been trying to do them and just yesterday I helped him over a couple times and he thought it was the greatest. He'd stand up, put his arms in the air and say ta-da.

Delilah, however didn't actually do one on her own until she was three and we put her in gymnastics.
