@brody624 try walking or riding the bike, and just sticking to light weights for now until you get back into it. That's what I've been doing until I have my first appt. If you go online and look up pregnancy workouts, there a bunch of tips for safe workouts... I found a bunch on Pinterest
I haven't done much since my BFP, but I really want to stay active this pregnancy. I do CrossFit in my garage, spinning, and hiking when the weather is nice. A weekly checkin would be great to help stay motivated!
I'm so glad this discussion came up again because I've been slacking this week on my workouts due to fatigue! I hiked a mile yesterday, but I'm usually good for two. With winter fast approaching for us ladies in the North, ( and as a Southern transplant, let me tell you, I do not go out unless required in the winter), I'm looking in to some of the cardio and prenatal yoga DVDs.Summer Sanders and Tracy Anderson both have DVDs out that are modified for each trimester. Has anyone tried these or have any recommendations?
@LuLuBelle89 i went to crossfit last night and I just wanted my bed. But it felt great after. Buuuuut, I was in the slow pack, i get winded pretty quicky and I try not to overdo it, go at my pace and deep breaths. This is my check in!
Coaches know so the encouragement is there and the support and modify anything that doesn't feel right.
Any core work (knee raises, sit ups , sit ups) give me cramps, so I stay away. It's just a matter of finding what works with each one of us.
It's not always easy, we're tired, nauseous, exhausted and hungry (!) but hang in there ladies! It can only help us! And this of that feeling when you're done, how good it feels!
I went to crossfit last night too. my coach knows and i wore a HR monitor. I made sure to keep my HR < 150, even for the "sprints", which i ended up just jogging. He told me he and his wife have a 3 month old, so he is VERY familiar w/ all the pregnancy symptoms and proper mods
I have my daily gym workout all planned out (leg day, back, etc.) and I also have T25 and P90x at home which I love. But I have been so heartburn-y, nauseas, and fatigued, I haven't worked out in a week!
Anyone have experience going back to working out after the first trimester blues?? I really want to stay healthy but man, just getting off the couch is exercise enough right now!
Eliptical treadmill and Stairclimber with light weights. I have been so tired, it's def been tough but I have been pushing myself to go. Did zumba 3x a week before but my Doc said if the class is high intensity and lots of jumping, to take the first trimester off.
Went swimming today and the pool water suddenly tasted AWFUL! Couldn't get my ears to stop popping either, and I've been swimming since I was a kid and that never happens.
I felt great afterwards though! Pregnancy, is there any part of my body you will not change! Answer: no.

I walk a lot and do UJAM & Zumba. Sometimes I do workout videos at home and light hand weights. Definitely trying to be consistent throughout the whole pregnancy!
I walk 4 miles a day week days, DH and I hike 5-7 miles on weekends....now that it's getting colder I will be back to 90 mins of yoga on days that are just too cold to be out....
I've done the Summer Sanders DVD and liked it! I was doing Piyo and T25 but haven't done squat in two months. Want to get back into it, hope they are easy to modify.
I take it easy horseback riding but I have a horse who I consider incredibly safe- I've had her for 10 years and couldn't imagine not riding. I gave up jumping and training the greener horses for now
@paintdadanta I do dressage and a bit of jumping which I've decided I'll stop doing- but dressage and trails are all fair game! Couldn't imagine not riding and my doctor said if I feel good go for it!
From lurking on the Fitness Board, The video I've seen most recommended is "The Perfect Pregnancy Workout". (plan to ask for it for Christmas ) Could ask over there about the others you are interested in.

He settles her in her home as a happy mother of children, praise the Lord! (Psalms 113:9)

I run a few times a week, usually 45min-90min. Sometimes with a single or double stroller I all so take a class 2x a week that is a strength cardio mix, low wt high rep, some hiit. Changes every time. I sometimes do body pump and Pilates. In pretty good shape. Much better shape than previous pgs, hope to keep going. A friend of mine workout through her whole pg recently, and if she can do it I know I can too!

I have a lot of friends who do dressage and jumping as its really popular in our area. I was excited to get my run in yesterday on the trail - I definitely couldn't do without my riding time especially in this lovely fall weather. I'm lucky that I can trust my mare with just about anything though I may have to avoid my gelding for a bit lol.
I used to so Orange Theory 3-4 times a week but ever since being pregnant, I literally have NO energy. I took it slow last week and then got the flu. I'm striking out across the board lol
I had been doing HIIT for over a year. After my miscarriage in August, I'm erring on the side of caution this time around. When I found out I was pregnant again, I decided to give up my HIIT classes. My doctor said it was safe, but I felt it raised my heart rate and temperature too high. I'm not doing anything to risk losing this pregnancy, so I've been walking and swimming instead. I plan to look into some yoga and Zumba classes as well.
jlab0708 I grew up doing dressage and 3-day eventing! I don't have a horse at the moment, though, so I only get to ride when I go home to visit family.

I do Insanity twice a week, which I now will have to modify to be more moderate impact rather than the crazy high impact (according to my dr). I also walk our dog almost every day. My dr said no insanity past first tri so I imagine I will switch to yoga and elliptical. We also hike and ski and snowshoe in the winter. I know that skiing is technically a no but I'm hoping my dr says it's okay as long as I don't go crazy and I still fit in my clothes. I'm a careful skier and have been skiing for 26 years and would like to get a few runs in at our local small mountain before I outgrow my clothes lol.
