I thought that my neighbor was taking an extra long time to mow her yard today, but being on bedrest, I didn't take the time to look outside. When I finally took the dog out, I noticed that some of the stuff in our yard had moved. She mowed our lawn for us!

She knows that I am on bedrest and we are trying to make everything work around here as normal as possible. With me being in the hospital and DH having drill 2 weekends in a row, time has been tight. It was so thoughtful of her. Now, we are trying to figure out what we should do to thank her.

With the amount of insomnia on the board I feel like we could already have a MOTN randoms/check in thread.

I just realized in my FFFC I attributed the word scrub to destinys child. It just popped into my head and I thought "that's not what B sounds like!?!" Sorry TLC!

I've been scarce because it's been a busy weekend! Friday we finished the nursery other than a few things for the wall and then I DDed DH and our friend to an Oktoberfest. We ended up hanging out until after midnight- it's weird how used to not drinking I've become. I just filled up on spaetzle and potato salad!

Yesterday we had another Oktoberfest to attend at DH's coworker's house. That was fun too but I'm starting to get some contractions, ouch. Afterwards we went to get pizza and DH got the call that his grandma had passed. That was not fun to hear, but we've had a week to prepare at least.

Today we have breastfeeding class and then I am making DH go see Gone Girl with me.

My Sunday morning is being spent chilling at dunkin donuts while DH gets checked out at medexpress next door. I don't want to sit in there with all those sick people.

Hi ladies!

We had labor and delivery class this weekend.  it was ok but our instructor was VERY repetititve and I feel like it could've been 1/2 the time it was.  And people ask the dumbest questions that they should ask their healthcare provider.  It was annoying.

Yesterday after class I finished up LO's nursery.  All we have left to do is hang things on the wall.  Today I came home and did a quick clean of the bathroom but pulled a muscle in my back so now I'm sitting on my ass.

We also saw Gone Girl on Friday night which was good!!!

@missnacholover‌ did you read the book first? Someone told me they changed the ending in the movie and was wondering if that was true.

My baby shower was today.  Only 2 people came, out of the 15 that rsvp'd.  None of my family (besides my mom who co-hosted) came and none of the father's family came.  Just two friends besides my other hostess.  It was a beautiful shower and perfect down to every detail (the hershey kisses had stickers on the bottom that matched my nursery theme, even) and I really enjoyed myself.  It was perfect and everything I could have wanted.  

And while I know shit happens, I admit I am really hurt about so many people not showing up and being there and celebrating with me.

@schrijiver‌ I'm so sorry. That must be so hurtful and hard to deal with. ((Hugs)) I agree that smaller showers are best as PPs have said, but the fact that 15 people RSVP'd and only two came would be upsetting. Try not to worry about it too much- easier said than done I know.

Thanks .  You are right about the smaller showers still being great.  I had a good time with my friends and being able to talk to them and all sit around one table and enjoy each other and talk.  And it truly was a great day, it was everything I could have wanted out of a shower.  It was the having no family come at all and then not even letting anyone know or explaining that kind of hurt my heart.  As I said, I know shit happens that keep people from coming so I'm trying to not take it personally.

But it was still a wonderful day so I am thankful for that.  Thanks for the hugs .

Thanks for the hugs .  As I said, I really am trying not to take it personally but it's hard not to because it just made me feel sad that so many people, mainly family, just up and didn't show.  

But it was wonderful shower so I am thankful .

Sounds like everyone was very productive this weekend!  We went to a wedding reception last night at a fancy downtown restaurant and it was standing room only so I ended up standing for like 3 hours...  my feet were pretty much unrecognizable by the end and I felt like my back was going to break in half.

But then today I took my 5-year old niece to a movie and she told me it was the "best day of her life".... awwwww!!

DH went over and talked to our neighbor. She said that she hadn't seen us around much and was worried that I was stuck in the hospital. DH explained that I spent a couple days there and she started to tear up. DH offered to help her with anything that she needed around her house. She is currently into about 1,000 projects and winter is coming soon.

I had a very busy and productive weekend, which has made me feel less anxious about needing to do ALL THE THINGS. 

Saturday, we had a second baby shower, thrown by some of our activist/union friends and it was a lot less formal and more fun than our first one with close friends and relatives. Then DH and I went a dinner and movie date and we also saw Gone Girl!

Today was all about running errands and working on the to-do list. We went grocery shopping, wrote our thank you cards for both showers, baked a pie, did laundry, picked up our travel system and installed our car seat.

On the weekends, I have more energy, so I just need to keep going and going. Work days poop me out and I don't really do much during the week.

My baby shower was on Saturday I'm so glad it's finally over. My girls sucked at being hostess and were both an hour late. I unpacked all the gifts and put them away, just to realize I have to wash all the new clothes first I wanted to ( My son is 10 and starting all over is so overwhelming, there's no much I forgot about a newborn.

I know how you feel!!! There were so many no-show's at my shower and it definitely hurt my feelings. People just suck!!! And if they weren't coming they could have said something.
