Measuring ahead

I'm currently 27 weeks- I had an appt earlier this week and when measuring my fundal height my doctor said I'm measuring 4 weeks ahead (31 weeks). I'm going back for an ultrasound to check things out but just curious if anyone has had a Similar experience. Did you deliver early? Any complications? I know my due date is correct so I'm assuming baby is just large....

It's just a measurement - even ultrasounds can be off tremendously, little yet a tape-measure method. 

With my daughter, I measured 4-6 weeks behind my entire pregnancy, and spot on by ultrasound. So, at 28 weeks (like I am now), I was measuring 22 weeks. My last ever measurement that pregnancy was 30, I had my daughter 4 days later at 36 weeks 4 days and she was 6 lbs even. 

I have no faith or trust in fundal height measurements being accurate at all. The ultrasound was more or less accurate, they had estimated up to 6 lbs the week prior to me giving birth.

Fundal height isn't an exact science. I wouldn't put so much stock in how many centimetres you are (I mean, how can every woman measure the same?) and rely on it more so to ensure you are growing appropriately week over week.

I measured ahead and it was due to the way DD was positioned. How you're measuring at this stage doesn't change your due date at this point.
