TTC after 35

Odd question about excessive grease!

Hi ladies! So, for the past 3-4 weeks I have become very oily. My face and more so my hair!!!! Like, SUPER grease monkey! Never in my life has it been this way. Didn't make any connection until reading that hormones can make that happen. I went off the pill in June and the grease started I think September. Startin to break out a slight but too. But my hair, that is the real deal! Wash and dry it, and oily at roots sometimes right after. Anyone else experience this after going off BCP or taking supplements / trying to conceive? Or should I look elsewhere for my answer.

Re: Odd question about excessive grease!

  • Could be related. Try switching to a shampoo for oily hair.

  • Not an odd question at all!  When I went off BCP last year, my skin went crazy, my hair went crazy, my cycles went crazy, my sleep patterns went crazy.  The hormones can definitely do it to you.  For most people, things will settle down as your body re-adjusts and your hormones even out.  If you can remember how your hair/skin/cycle/etc were before you started BCP, that's what you can expect now that you're off of them.  I agree with PP that trying different shampoos is a good place to start for your hair.  Good luck!

  • My skin and hair did the same thing after coming of BCPs a couple of years ago. Then I found out I had PCOS and extra testoterone was the culprit. After I got my hormone levels under control I noticed a huge difference.
