Bumping from L&D

So my dr sent me to the hospital today after my blood pressure spiked. I've been feeling pretty crummy lately anyway.

They are talking about possibly doing the c section now, I'm just 36 weeks today. I was fine with the idea until I googled complications of preemies at 36 weeks gestation. Now I'm panicking. Any moms want to talk me off the ledge and tell me their happy stories? I just don't want to have to leave my baby in the NICU :(

Re: Bumping from L&D

  • I don't have any experience with preemies but I'm sending T&P's your way.

  • My daughter was born at 36 weeks 4 days when my water broke. She had to go to the NICU for an hour but she's been doing awesome! At a week she was already over her birth weight. There's no reason yours won't go the same way. Good luck!

  • No googling complications! Listen to your doctors and ask them about the risks if you are worried.
    Good luck!

  • Similar situation here... My dr ordered blood work since my BP jumped from 107/82 to 132/74, which isn't categorized As 'high' but it was such a jump that she was worried and I've had this massive headache all day. Just stressing cuz it's Friday and I was literally the last pt of the day, so I don't think I'll hear anything until Monday.
  • No advice but big hugs!
  • I had my twins 3 weeks ago at 36 weeks. They both got to come home with me from the hospital, no NICU stay at all. One was 4lb 12 oz and the other was 5lb 9oz, breathing was fine, were able to nurse, and were able to maintain their body temp. Don't stress!
  • No experience but T&Ps for you and baby! I hope everything goes well!
