Trouble TTC

Will you take me back?

I'm back again and I'm truly devastated. I don't think I've ever been this sad and mad in my life. I announced my bfp earlier this week, but after 2 more blood tests they discovered my hcg levels are not rising appropriately. I have an appt this morning with my RE, but they already believe that I have an ectopic pregnancy. Either way they let me know this is in no way a viable pregnancy. DH and I are truly crushed. I don't know what to do from here. I've never felt more disappointed and lost. I need you ladies.

  • Well we're leaving the appt now. More confused than we were before. We had a 30 minute long trans ultrasound and thankfully there was no ectopic pregnancy. The specialist basically told us in fancy words that he has no idea what is going on. My hcg levels are still rising, but most definitely not doubling, not even close to it and are still low. He says the location of where I implanted is unknown and I've been scheduled for another ultrasound and blood test on Monday. Any thoughts? Someone else experience something like this?

I'm sorry you're dealing with this.

With my ectopic, I was 7w6d and had betas of 3600 before they were able to see anything in my tube (two previous u/s found nothing).

Just keep pushing for betas and u/s until you make a decision on what to do.

Again, I'm really sorry you're stuck in limbo like this. It's the worst.

  • Thank you all so much for your support! I understand that no one tries to say things that are hurtful or inconsiderate, but I agree that we really need to think through what we say before we say it. I've had a lot of dumb "helpful" comments already, such as: "At least you know you can actually get pregnant" or "My niece had been trying for 3 months and the same thing happened to her". It's hard not to punch someone in the throat.

Exactly. People seem to think they're being helpful, but really, the things they're saying make you want to throat punch them.

I'm sorry you've had to hear insensitive things. This kind of limbo is an incredibly difficult place to be, and the last thing you need is people saying hurtful things. Take care of yourself this weekend, get some rest, and FX your appointment on Monday sheds some more light on the situation.

  • I have been through this as well, and it seemed like a roller coaster ride of emotions. I am sitting here struggling for the right things to type because I know nothing I say will really make it any easier.  In this emotional time, make time for each other and try not to stress (really not possible I know).  But know that we are all here if you need us!
