To pick or not to pick?

To get in the mood for this question, please sing the words "crusty nipples" to the tune of "tiny bubbles."

I know this has come up before, but I don't think we reached a consensus. Should we leave our crusty (post-leakage) nipples alone, or try to clean them up?

  • Thankfully this has yet to be an issue. If/when it is, I'd clean it off.

  • Mine are leaky faucets and I have to wear pads, but there are no crusties to speak of. I think I would choose crusties over constant leakage.
  • Mine haven't started yet, but I would break out the nursing pads and avoid the issue altogether.

  • I clean them in the shower, it's easier when the crusties are softened by the water. Occasionally I'll pick at them when dry, when they get itchy-feeling.

  • I pick the crusties.

Word to the wise- don't smell that shit.
