It's never good when the US tech runs out of the room...

I had my first appt today and it did not go as we had hoped. I should have been 9 weeks tomorrow but the US tech couldn't find a HB. She took lots of photos and measurements and then just rushed out of the room. She brought the doctor in to make sure. Baby apparently stopped developing just a few days ago. I just don't even know how to process this. I have to decide if I want cytotec or a D&C and I just don't know how to choose. I've been feeling so nauseous and had no cramping or bleeding. I thought if I made it to almost 9 weeks I'd be in the clear. I'm just so heartbroken about this and don't even know how to feel.

So sorry for your loss. I've had 2 D&Cs and I found it worked well for me. Especially that far along, there is a chance you won't pass all the tissue and will need a D&C anyway. Feel free to PM with questions

I'm very sorry for you loss.

I delivered my son with my first miscarriage and had a D&C with my second. Physically, the D&C was easier. Emotionally, they were both devastatingly hard. You will get through this though and you're stronger than you think.

ETA: I hate that your u/s tech made the situation worse. There are tactful ways of excusing yourself. We had a similar situation with a tech turning the screen from us when she saw DH reading it. It stuck with me since then. I wish medical professionals had more tact and compassion. ((more hugs)).

I'm so sorry. 3 of my miscarriages were a little later 14, 10 1/2 and 8 1/2 weeks. I know that feeling oh to well of something isn't right during a ultra sound. I've never taken the medicine but I did have 3 D&C's, they were quick and I liked that part about them. If you have any questions feel free to ask. There is also a miscarriage board that I found helpful last year after one of my miscarriages.

I've taken cytotec once and had a natural miscarriage once. I am a private person and live in a small town. Unfortunately - I hated people knowing, so I went with the at home approach. I would do it again if I had to.
