Weird dr appt today

Hi there...went in for my normal appt with NST. I knew when the nurse went to get me ice water and asked me to drink it that she wasn't liking what she was seeing. The dr. came in and put this buzzy/vibrating thing on my belly for a second to try to wake LO up. She left again for more monitoring. When she came back she said she was happier with the accelerations but there had been a deceleration that she didn't like so she did an US to check fluid levels. All good. The next part was what was weird because I really felt like baby dropped yesterday, belly is sitting in my lap and at my last two checks it wasn't painful to check cervix and head was low enough the it was easy to find. Today I cried uncle and had her stop. She said baby is really high and I'm still closed. I didn't think to ask while I was there, of course, and it's not really relevant to anything so I'm not going to call, but can baby move up? I'm thinking it's possible she flipped, I guess, or moved transverse? Just curious what y'all think.

  • I wish I had while I was there. I'm annoyed with myself,. The bottom line, though, is that even if she moved up, flipped, etc., things could still change, my induction date it set and she said baby looked good, so I don't think it warrants a call.

  • If she flipped they would have seen that on the u/s.

  • Yes baby can back out. I have asked before

And that buzzer deal scared the crap out of me the first time she used it because the baby jumped.

Yes, baby can move up and down the cavity. I had this a couple of weeks ago. Baby dropped and she was really awkwardly positioned and was pressing on something so I could barely walk from the pain she was causing. Then she came back up and has been positioned high for the last couple of appointments. I think she just dropped again but I'm not counting on it to mean anything at this point. I doubt she switched positions or the dr would've mentioned it.
