Random Question for the Preggos out there

So just curious those of you whom are having their babies in December - february, are you going to have trouble with getting maternity leave? I remember for me its a rolling calender. So If i had a baby in december or January I think i would have trouble. I am just being nosey/curious.

Re: Random Question for the Preggos out there

  • I don't get maternity leave with my job as I am a contracted / at will employee, so I am unfortunately clueless to the situation.

  • I can't help much, I'm no longer working sorry! I think though with my former company it was fmla with a rolling calendar, so it would have reset in January.

  • I lucked out with my employer being pretty lenient about this kind of thing. When I felt like I was done working before DS was born I told my OB and she wrote me a slip. I was off for, I think, 2 weeks before he was born. And after I took 8. At my 6 week checkup they asked when I was going back to work and I said that I wanted 2 more weeks. So again, they wrote me a slip and the company just went by it. I'm a salaried employee so they pretty much do whatever your doctor tells them. It's different for our hourly/union employees. I plan on doing roughly the same thing this time though. After my 6/8 weeks I'll probably take my 12 weeks of FMLA, and then my 3 weeks vacation.. Annnnnd then put in my 2 weeks notice :D

I'm not much help at all either. But that's my plan.
