But seriously, even though I don't like taking the kids in and out of the car a bunch of times, they come with me everywhere. They just have to. It's not fun, but I'm not leaving them in the car.
This is exactly why I only go to Starbucks if it's a drive thru.
Yesterday, the line up was sooo long for Tim Hortons but I needed it so bad. I ended up in the drive thru lineup in the most awkward place (they did NOT take into account Canadian need) and thought it'd be so much easier to just run in, like I would have when I was kidless. I sucked it up and stayed in my awkward place in line that prevented people from pulling out for a few mins
I only get out of the car for Starbucks if it's in a Target. Otherwise, no drive thru, no caffeine!

I'm pretty sure no one says as you are giving birth, "things only get easier from here."
Nope. I wouldn't trade my babies for anything, but they definitely haven't made my life easy.
Although I am now able to bribe the toddler with tea and cookies from Starbucks so I can wander around target aimlessly spending money I shouldn't! Bribes make things easier. Sort of.
I am seriously sick of my pets. They make everything soooo much more difficult. I wish I didn't like them so much so I could get rid of them. Well that would never happen, lucky for them 'once you are here you are family'. Sigh.
Since having LO, my life has been anything but convenient... Waking up in the middle of the night, cleaning baby poop off of my clothes, taking fast showers, getting up at 5:30 am to get everyone out the door to work and daycare by 7, lugging that heavy car seat with DD in it into the gas station even if it's just a 2 minute trip to get a little Debbie because I had a craptastic day... We've all been through many of these inconveniences! We make sacrifices so we can have a happy, healthy, safe little one. Parenting is not about convenience... Why risk putting your baby in danger because it's easier for you?!
Only on page 1 but I'm curious what people consider "moderate temps" vs "stiflingly hot". Temperatures can rise to unsafe levels extremely quickly- far faster than you'd think. I completely understand that it would be more convenient but convenience should not trump safety. Be smart people.
I feel as though this conversation is going to go the way of CIO and spanking and circumcision. Some are for and some are against and very rarely will a person change sides. Doesn't mean one side is irresponsible, doesn't mean one side are bad parents, it just means we are different.
And has there never, ever in your life been a law that you looked at and thought, wow, that's overkill? Yes, leaving a child in a car can be dangerous, but if you have a little common sense you can alleviate a lot of that danger. I'm not going to comment on this again, as I also feeling my head hit the desk a little too often.

Also, I end up eating starbucks for lunch an embarrassing amount because it's drive thru and I pretend it's healthier than fast food.
