Favorite poop removal method

We will be starting solids within the next couple weeks or so and I've been thinking about how we will remove the poop, especially from the daycare diapers that have been sitting rolled up for hours. What have you found to be the best method?

  • I'm a sprayer.  But just wanted to let you know that I actually found dc diapers that had been rolled up and sitting in the wet bag all day easier to handle.  ***Gross warning*** The diapers soak up the liquid so they are more likely to be ploppable.

Yup. I find it's better to walk away from the poopy diaper for a bit-comes off much easier when it's drier

  • I was doing a dunk and swish and spatula thing for a bit but I won a sprayer at an expo a few weeks ago so now that is definitely my preferred method.

  • I'm a big advocate of the diaper sprayer. So is DH. I wouldn't be without one.

I have had the opposite experience.

I probably would have quit CDing without a sprayer. A pooped monstrous amounts and several times a day. It wasn't pleasant, and having to get anymore up close and personal with them wouldn't have been fun.

  • I love my sprayer! DH figured out how to make one for me and its great. Bonus - it reaches the tub so he uses it to give the dog a bath lol
  • We can't attach a sprayer, but our toilets are super-ineffecient, so I mostly dunk/swish/flush. I use a Diaper Duck if I need to soak for any amount of time, and since my first one broke, one of the broken ends makes a perfect scraper. The company gave me a free replacement under warranty and threw in an extra for good measure. They're great for traveling with CD, because I don't think I would want to deal with bringing a sprayer along on vacations and hooking it up.

If we get back to the States while still in diapers, we have low-flow toilets in our house so I'll probably experiment with the showerhead (pretty sure it reaches) but will likely end up installing a sprayer anyway.
  • Being using a spatula. I was going to buy a sprayer, but half of her poops are already pretty ploppable. I may have DH make one instead bc I don't want to spend that much money one.

  • I do a mix of scraper and dunk-n-swish.

  • Getting the poo off the diapers is a whole lot easier than getting it off my LOs butt, balls, thighs, feet, and quite often hands.
