GTKY-- how do you sleep?

edited October 2014 in TTC After a Loss
I just curled up in bed to bump and realized I have a few things that have to be the same every night.

I have to have my phone on the night stand, face down on vibrate, I lay on my right side and sleep with a small body pillow between my legs. I always have my ceiling fan on high, and it has to be pitch black with ZERO noise (no tv, music etc).

So tell me, how do you sleep? I-)

Re: GTKY-- how do you sleep?

  • Can terrible be an answer?  I hate sleeping.

I turn on my heated mattress warmer in the winter.  We sleep with a fan on but not pointed at us.  2 pillows and a blanket that I use to put between my legs.

DH says I sleep in a ball.

  • I'm all over the place when it comes to sleep. I like to lay on my side with DH when I can but if my back is bad the only way I can sleep is on my stomach with no pillow or flat on my back with heating pad as high as it goes.

As for ritual habits, I always put my phone face down on my iHome and my Kindle on the tissue box with my glasses. Is it bad that on nights of insomnia I listen to certain playlists from my iPod too . . . especially if DH is not coming to bed same time as me.

Life is a balance of holding on and letting go.

  • I definitely have to have my phone plugged in next to me, and I sleep usually with one arm under my pillow. I turn over quite a few times before I get comfortable, and it's usually different every night, but I've noticed I've been sleeping on my stomach a lot recently. I've been having some hip pain that I really need to see the chiropractor about, but in the meanwhile it's not been so comfortable to sleep on my side like I used to.

  • I sleep on my right side, curled up with a pillow between my knees. My phone sits on the nightstand beside me and I always have to have a glass of water beside me. A cat... Or four, is usually draped across my legs.
I have my silky blanket next to me, one silky end at my feet next to my ties and the other by hands, and yes I do "silky" it throughout the night apparently. Usually some music plays softly as I fall asleep.

  • I sleep on my stomach or side with a pillow at my side. My phone is on my nightstand beside my BBT and a book. We sleep with the window open and I have to be covered by a blanket.

  • I used to sleep strictly on my stomach with an arm under my pillow. I have branched out in recent years to my side and back as well. I absolutely must put lotion on my feet and legs or they get hot and I cannot sleep. I also have my bbt and a glass of water nearby.

  • I sleep on my side (left to start but I normally wake up on my back or right). phone on the headboard with the BBT and a glass of water. got to have my 2 pillows and the blankets and some sort of music. If DH isn't home or coming to bed much later I have my bear. However if it's a really rough night for sleeping I tend to finally fall asleep on my back, one foot out of the sheets with my head leaned so far right that my ear is touching my shoulder.

Phone on nightstand, not up side down only bc my charger is messed up and needs propped on something to work
2 pillows under head, top pillow has lavender oil dabbed on it
I start out on my left side with a body pillow between my legs, face buried in lavender oil :))

Eta: I forgot the most important part! The sheet and comforter has to be straightened out before I get into bed, no messed up covers! I have to have sheet on me, not just comforter

I'm a die hard stomach sleeper (unless my back is bothering me). I love MH very much, but refuse to share a sheet with that blanket hog! He sleeps hot. I am always cold. Come the end of October the heating pad will go back under my side of the bed and my second blanket comes out of the closet. We always have the air purifier on, and thanks to the never ending thought train I need the tv on to fall asleep. Otherwise I lie awake for hours before dozing off. MH can't stand it, but prefers the tv over me tossing and turning for hours on end.

Nightstand is topped with my phone, BBT, Vitamins, a water bottle, and my glasses.

Edit: I'm only one cup of coffee deep.

  • Phone charging on the night stand. First I have to read for a little. Then the ocean sounds come on. I sleep on my side but with one leg bent and curled all the way up. Sometimes I have to consciously not do this bc it puts pressure on my bladder. I also have a small Winnie the Pooh I must have in the crook of my arm. When I wake up in the middle of the night, I take my phone and pooh bear, head to the guest room, turn on a movie on my phone and sleep in the same position. Oh and I have to straighten the sheets first and no matter how hot I need at least a sheet on me

    PgAL welcome

  • Phone must be plugged in on the bedside table right next to BBT. Fan on DH's side set on high. I have one of those armchair pillows that keeps my two bed pillows from falling between the headboard and mattress. One pillow must be over my eyes, another in between my knees. I cuddle Fenix's blanket,DH's hoody that he gave me when we were 13, and Fenix's heartbeat owl. Yes, I must have all three and absolutely cannot sleep unless I've got them. I usually start out spooning DH, me being big spoon, but when I'm ready to sleep I turn over to my other side. I usually wake up on my back though.

  • I have to fall asleep on my stomach with one hand under my pillow and one by my side. I move a TON in my sleep though, so I always end up awake in a totally different position. H is a really light sleeper so I know I wake him up a lot because I move so much.
