Constant back pain

Long story short, I have had really bad back pain in the same place for 2 weeks now. I have tried icing the area, heat compresses, stretching, and hubby massaging the area. Is there anything that you can think of that I haven't tried? I really need some relief from this. Also, I meet with my doctor this week and am hoping she can give me some different ideas too, just hoping there was something I could try today.

Re: Constant back pain

  • I wish i had some advice but I don't :( just wanted to say that i am right there with you...getting up to pee at night is awful!
  • Good to know I'm not the only one! Hopefully my doctor can give me some good advice.
  • I had back back pain on the right side during my first pregnancy and it ended up being gallstones. (My OB had passed it off as normal pregnancy discomfort). If it's REALLY painful, I would get it checked out. During my second pregnancy I haven't experienced any sort of pain that's even remotely close to what that felt like.
  • I had a serious ache in my lower back towards the right side, it went on until the pain became unmanageable so I went to hospital and during an ultrasound they picked up a condition called hydronephrosis which apparently is very common in pregnancy, however it did lead to kidney stones (which I would not wish on my worst enemy) so make sure when you see your doctor next week you get all bases covered! When I get achey I use a hot water bottle on the area which sometimes eases it.

Good luck, I hope it eases for you!
  • Is it your upper or lower back? My upper back has hurt every day for a month now- so just pregnancy related, but depending on where you are having pain it is a convo you should have with doc to rule out certain things. Good luck!
