I was going to make this clicky, but it got too complicated.
Here's what I'm interested in knowing: when the person who does the cooking at your house isn't home at dinner time, does that person still make dinner for the other members of the family?
In my situation, I work two evenings a week. I do the cooking. I leave some kind of dinner for DH. I have my reasons, and I take some slack from others when I mention that I leave him dinner to heat up.
How does it work at your house?

Re: Non-clicky dinner poll
On Wednesdays, H works late and I make dinner but generally will make H a plate for the fridge. If there's not enough or we grab take out or something, H can manage on his own.
Sort of related - for about 4 years he worked nights, and was never up in the mornings with me/LO1 so we got into a routine where I'd make me/LO breakfast. I still forget to make enough for H most mornings unless he reminds me to make him food.
If I'm working that night, I'll have the kids fed, and a plate waiting for DH when he walks in.
I take mine to go.
If for some reason I'm not able to make dinner, I'll order in.
I'm more concerned with my children being fed than DH. Before we had kids, I had no problem leaving him to fend for himself.
