LO doesn't imitate at all -- no sounds, no movements, expressions, etc. Anyone else in this boat? She's generally social I think, but I can't help worry a bit. She's 7 months.
Feeling this way too with it seeming like "every other baby" is crawling and babbling but mine. I figure I'll look up suggested milestones and bring it up at his 9mo appointment if things haven't changed.
Em mimics raspberries, but that's it. She's been doing that since she was 4-5 months, but flatly refuses to mimic anything else. I spend all day trying to teach her the Ta-Na-La-Da sounds as these are apparently the easiest for babies to start with - zero success other than a raspberry to show her thoughts on new sounds
We also have a low mimic success rate and no crawling either. I'm not worried! Kind of glad about the no crawling thing actually - life is tough enough with the mobile toddler, I don't need C on the run as well
No crawling here yet either... he gets to the position then just rocks back and forth or planks and goes backwards... if your pedi isn't worried about the mimicing, try not to stress... I'm sure it will come...
That's how Em's crawling started....you've got about two weeks before he's off lol
I'm glad I'm not alone on this! The internets made me feel like I had the only baby who didn't mimic from birth!
Don't get me started on crawling...LO has shown zero interest in anything other than falling on her face when she reaches for a toy and topples over. But she's got gross motor delays -- hopefully some PT with EI and she'll improve. But on the bright side I love that she stays where I put her!

Or a month to two months! We have been saying "oh she is going to crawl so soon!" For a long time now. Still no crawling. More movement, but no crawling!
I video taped poor R's every move, determined that I would get the first time he crawled, since I didn't see the first roll over.
Re: Anyone else's LO not mimic?
She doesn't mimic any gestures at all, but she's smiling at people and is generally social so I'm not worried.
