Coming out of the woodwork

Since this is my first BMB to go to term and I wondering if any of you STM who were on the Bump before can answer a question. 

Were there this many brand new people coming out of the woodwork at the 11th hour during your last pregnancy?! I really can't believe how many new people have popped in to ask "am I in labor" questions in the last week. Some are clearly MUD and BSC and others seem to be for real. I am just curious if this is normal as due dates approach.

I'm trying to remember...and I don't think so. I was a part of the O11 bmb and didn't join til May and felt that was pretty late.

I don't remember this from D12. The main thing I remember is how many people disappeared after the babies were born. Many of the most frequent posters never appeared again. Now there are only about 15-20 that post regularly.

It must differ a lot. I think it helped strengthen our bond. It didn't start to die until the following summer. Now it is a complete ghost town.

Almost exactly the same on May '13. We had less, but still a fair amount of reg posters after the babies were born. But after some major drama we lost a lot. Now there's only a handful of us left.

@pnwlover12‌ part of it may have been that a private message board was created shortly before the babies were born and that's where people ended up.

I think our board did this eventually, through something called Chatzy if I remember correctly. I didn't participate in that much so that is when my interest started dying down.

My last BMB had an influx of random turn regulars after the first Facebook group disappeared. Then, not long after the babies were born, a second group started and it took most of the regulars.

But I don't remember this much crazy...

Were you really?! I was on O'11, but I mostly lurked and didn't really become part of the community.

I didn't go to my BMB last time until really late in the game. I had found TB searching google for things and was technically supposed to be a Nov due date, but since I was to be induced early, I joined O'11 instead. Pretty much just intro'd and occasionally weighed in on a post, though.

I eventually became active on the AP board and stopped posting at all on O'11, and then when TTC this LO, I was really active on TTGP.

I was!! On my old SN. There is another one of us from O11 who is due in Oct but she only pops in occasionally -- @sharksfan‌.

I always wondered if you were part of the O11 BMB but I didn't remember your sn. I was fairly active on there for about a year until I started working full time in the summer of 2012.

I don't remember crazies on the Feb 12 board, either, but that was a while ago. I do remember ladies joining all throughout pregnancy and baby stages. Most of the regulars are in FB groups now.

With DD about 4 years ago, the BMB's weren't as popular as they are now. We used the tri boards. I'm thinking there weren't this many newbs then, but oh well.
