This weekend was a very long, emotional, soul searching weekend. I don't want to get into all the nitty gritty but it was a lot of looking inwards and determining what we want for our family, what works for us, etc. It was quite draining actually.
However, with that, we came to the decision to go ahead and apply to go into profile with American Adoptions (national agency). We're about to hit 20months of waiting and I don't know that I can sit back and wait any longer without feeling some kind of progress. We want to be proactive parents.
I guess I'm writing it on here because we aren't going to share this information until our profile is up and active with others. It just eliminates questions about our choices.
Last week I wrote a frustrated to tears entry- and it really was true. All of you guys/gals know how emotional adoption can be--- and we're just in the waiting process. I just want to thank you all for your support!!
Positivity moving forward!!
P.S. I updated my username from strawberryglobug simply to shorten it. Eventually it should read SGB721
Congrats! We used them for our son's adoption- matched and placed w/in 3 months of activation...we are currently waiting (10 months so far) for our second child. Hope you have a speedy process.
Re: Applied with American
Hope this path is much shorter!
