Cloth Diapering

for future reference

Which covers are tuckable AND not much wider through the seat/crotch than BB shells? As my LO gets better at removing Velcro I will need to replace the BB shells which fit him great but I don't like BB snap shells and I have one CC (China Cheapy) that is a full inch wider than my Diaper Safari one so it just doesn't fit as well.

Re: for future reference

  • Nicki's are pretty narrow in the crotch and have a good tuckable flap. IMO it's a unique fit though, so I'd recommend only getting one at first to try before buying a bunch as replacements.  I really like Capri's but I think they are a bit wider than BBs.

  • Thirsties (not duos) have a front flap. So do Bummis Super Brites. I think Diaper Safari also has them. I don't know about width on those, though.

I thought the flap on Thirsties was to protect/cover the snaps. I think it might wick if you used it like a tuckable cover. But maybe not.

  • Do they have to be tuckable

No not really, but I am finding for pad folded flats the flaps do come in handy.

I've never had wicking issues... but you might be right!

  • Assunta has a tuck able cover. And their other covers have a front flap, but I don't think it's meant for tucking. But I've done it. I'm not sure how the fit compares tho. My BB is in the wash.

Nickis are huuuge tho I think the thirsties duo wraps are meant for tucking, but not the thirsties covers. Try a grovia!!! Not tuckable, but nothing shifts and they are trim. Love love love.

Never have gotten into Grovia and not sure why.......I'm not so worried about the flats shifting while it's otb.....it's more of when it's on the way to being otb that I want to keep the flat from shifting. Btw, I forget what thread it was.....but it was a couple months ago at least....but I decided you're right about flats being easier than inserts.
