  • Are you looking for new/cutting edge as in, unusual spellings, youneek, smoosh names?

Or are you looking for new/cutting edge as in, not often used and maybe older but we wish would make a comeback?

If you're looking for the former, I can't help you. If you're looking for the latter, some suggestions:

Alistair, Brian, Conrad, Sverre, Cormac, Lionel, Grant, Jesse, Norbert, Otto, Odin, Oscar, Blaise, Xavier, Silas, Simeon, Vance

One person's cutting edge is another person's been there done that.  But for me:

Anything that is really a noun or adjective (Triumph, Bridge)
Unused but obvious place names (Denmark, Tokyo)
Really unusual Biblical names (Balthazar, Hezekiah)
    Medieval names (Egbert, Ulric)

I would never personally use any of these and I don't think I'd really endorse their use, but if you are looking for things that no other kid will have I'd look at things like that.  If I met one I would think their parents were bold and cutting edge (and a little nutty).  There are also tons of lesser used but still really lovely names that I would consider using.  For me that list would look like:
    Arlo
    Edmund
    Ewan
    Felix
    Otto
    Eamon
    Walter
