I live in the suburbs. And I think it's a great fit for me. I love that all the stores I need to go to an a regular basis or relatively close. I also love that there are plenty of movie theaters close! Even though I hardly ever get to go anymore now that I have a kid. But when we talk about relocating, I pretty much always say I want to be close to a Costco and a Starbucks!

I live in the suburbs. I really love my house but I wish it was out in the middle of the woods. DH and I have a dream of building a very small cottage in in the woods and retiring there Walden style.
We live in the suburbs of Philadelphia - it's nice to have our own house and yard but be close enough to all the things the city has to offer. But like @Bananappeal145 we dream of a house in the woods with some more land and privacy. Peace, quiet, and lots of stars.

I live in the suburbs, but in the "inner burbs", close-ish to the city. I like it. I like having a yard and being close to a great school for DD; however, I lived in the city of Chicago for 7 years and in the city in Kansas City for 2.5 years before that and I really miss my more urban lifestyle. When we moved back to our hometown, the city schools were not an option so we settled for a not-so-far burb. Opposite of most PP's we always say we will retire to some high-rise in Chicago and then just travel a lot or become snowbirds in the winter :-)
We live in the suburbs- about an hour outside of NYC. DH thinks we live in the country because he grew up in a much busier town! I love where we live- I grew up here and we just moved back here last year so I have no plans of leaving.

We live on 5 acres about 30 mins from downtown Portland, Or. We saw a bear while driving up our road.
I like having the space, but it is a ton of work. 1 hour to mow the lawn, 6 to mow the field. We have chickens, though, and get fresh eggs which is awesome. Bumble (DD) absolutely loves it, so that is what matters.
I must live near you @jen4ny. I'm also about an hour north of Manhattan. It's perfect for us. I grew up 30 minutes closer to the city which is preferred but it so nice not running into people I went to HS with on a daily basis!

It is a lot of work but I agree the space is so great! I want chickens but my EH says no. We have a major fox and coyote issue :-( We do get fresh eggs from our friends though.

We live in a mid-sized city, in a neighborhood built in the 50's and 60's. It's really quiet and friendly, everyone knows eachother. Our street is not private, but it's not a "thru" street (if that makes any sense), so we always know everyone driving by and everyone waves and stops to talk.
Our church/daughter's school is a short walk away, my husband's best friend and his family live nextdoor, our yards are probably some of the largest within the city limits. Basically, we're really happy we found this home a few years ago.
We have a pretty sturdy coop, completely walled. Netting buried underneath. We have coyotes in packs out here, so we don't usually let them roam much. They aren't that hard to take care of. Feed, water, poop scoopin'.

I think that's just an excuse my EH is using so he doesn't have to get them even though I would the one taking care of them, haha! He wants a pig though.....

We live in the suburbs, but in an older neighborhood. I like where we live for now. I am torn between living in suburbia and living somewhere more rural. I grew up out in the country and while I hated not having any neighbors to play with I am sad my DD doesn't get to run around in the woods all day like I did.
@fuzzbumble I live outside of Portland too. I want chickens some day, but I don't know if we a good place for a coop right now.
