Hello and happy Monday, ladies! Hope everyone had a nice weekend. I would just like to take a moment to announce that this is the last check-in I will be running.
@Samuelismomma was kind enough to volunteer to take over, so starting next week, she will be running the show. I had a really great time getting to know all you wonderful ladies these past couple months. I still have 4 weeks to go, so I plan to stick around and participate in the check-in until my rainbow decides to come. After that, you better believe I'll be lurking to watch you all graduate from PGAL! We've got such a great group here. :x And thank you again to
@Samuelismomma, you'll do great!

As always, if we have any new ticker changers, please intro below so we can get you added to the roster. All right, here we go!
******************************EDD/How many weeks/Fruit?
Appts/ Updates?
How are you feeling?
What are you craving?
QOTW: What quality/trait do you most hope your LO inherits from you? And from your partner?
*******************************songbirdsinging55 - I had some spotting and cramping after getting my cervix checked, but not sure if that counts as contractions. Have you gotten your pelvic exam done yet? That was no picnic!
sgio7485 - Missed you last week! How is everything?
Samuelismomma - That is so cute your DS is all excited about his sister. Too sweet! And I thought it was funny you mentioned Taco Bell cravings... I had that a few months ago! My DH and I were seriously going there every week for awhile.
)
ChicagoJackie - I'm a FTM so I haven't put much thought into baby wearing. You like it, though? What carrier do you recommend?
Footprint - Hooray for not having GD! I'm sure that was a big relief
A/S this week, right? Excited to hear how it goes!
TheFutureMrsD - Thanks for sharing some pics of your nursery-in-progress with us! How was your shower on Sunday? Favorite gift?

What are you craving? French toast
QOTW: What quality/trait do you most hope your LO inherits from you? And from your partner? Hmmm. From me, I guess my optimism and faith in humanity. From my husband, his intelligence and sense of humor. Idk, that is a tough question
Hugs to those that need them!

Appts/ Updates? Had my first pelvic exam/cervical check on Thursday. Doc says I'm 1cm dilated and 90% effaced. I think that's good news!
How are you feeling? Anxious to be done. I don't want my LO to come this early and be a preemie, but if he wants to come, say, one week before his due date, I'm totes cool with that
What are you craving? Beef barley soup. A nice fall slow cooker recipe.
QOTW: What quality/trait do you most hope your LO inherits from you? And from your partner? I hope he gets my cool head and ability to have grace under pressure. I hope he gets DH's big heart and kind & gentle soul. Also his straight hair.
Appts/ Updates? Weekly check ups now. One on Friday. Having Braxton hicks as well as some pains after walking for more than 10 min. Very crampy and uncomfortable.
How are you feeling? Exhausted. I spent the whole weekend cleaning everything and organizing. Sleeping has been tough but I am excited. Have LO hospital bag ready, childcare set and meet with pediatricians this week.
What are you craving? Ice cream. Ice water. Anything freezing cold.
QOTW: What quality/trait do you most hope your LO inherits from you? And from your partner? From DH I hope he has sense of humor, sweet nature and laid back demeanor. DH is always cool and calm about things. Where I tend to over analyze. I hope he has my ambition and optimistic outlook on life.
@deezidee04 The pelvic exam was an experience for me. Very unpleasant. I did not know what it included for checking the cervix and the o.b. (not my regular one) was not very good. I felt like it was painful. We are almost there. I think it is finally setting in lol
@songbirdsinging55 I just seen you only have 4 weeks too! So excited for you!
@footprint I worry at u/s too:(.. Happy Birthday on Friday!
EDD/How many weeks/fruit? Jan 19, 24 weeks(v day!) cantaloupe !
Appts/updates? I get checked every 3 weeks due to high risk. I go Oct 6th. Growth check of little girl and cervical check!
How are you feeling? Having RLP if I walk a lot . Doing pretty good! Need the energy to organize house before LO arrives, especially if she is early! What are you craving? Today it was sweet ice tea! Oh and Dairy Queen turtle Sunday! Lol
QOTW: what quality/trait do you hope your LO inherits from you? And from your partner? My H's
ability with languages he speaks 4 fluently. I'm jealous! Lol. He is also very laid back!(i am a worrier) I
hope my sense of compassion and open mind to different adventures and cultures.
Appts/ Updates? I've got an appointment next week and I hope to go over a bunch of questions that I have for the doctor about a birth plan. DH spent all day Saturday cleaning the carpet in the nursery, the office, and the family room, so now we can start to put furniture in the nursery this week and I can maybe start to get organized.
How are you feeling? I'm tired. And my feet started swelling on Friday. I need to figure out a plan for propping my feet up at work.
What are you craving? A cocktail. :-)
QOTW: What quality/trait do you most hope your LO inherits from you? And from your partner? I'd like her to have my confidence. And I hope she gets DH's outgoingness. He can make friends anywhere. While that is sometimes annoying, there are a lot of upsides to it.
Appts/ Updates? A/S this Friday. Nervous and excited. Hoping my placenta has moved off of the cervix but being realistic that I am probably in the 2/3 of women for whom this is not happening. As long as the baby's OK, I don't care how he needs to be born.
How are you feeling? Okay actually. Having some issues with the old GI tract since they are alternating my dose of progesterone (high dose days=constipation; lower dose days=diarrhea) but whatever. I do get occasional flutters that are definitely the baby so that has been reassuring. Nothing as consistent as I would like of course.
What are you craving? Hmmm. Right now most of the time nothing sounds good to me. I am a pain in my own ass when it comes to eating. Even cereal (my old standby) doesn't sound good.
QOTW: What quality/trait do you most hope your LO inherits from you? And from your partner?
@deezidee04 we like the Ergo-baby performance carrier the best. We used it for DD since she was maybe 2-3 months. This time I am buying the infant insert and starting earlier. I loved being hands-free in the grocery store, taking a walk, being at a party, etc. I had her in that thing everywhere and she loved it. It also keeps people from touching the baby when you don't want them to. I liked too that I could feel her breathing (warm little breath on my chest) and her little hands crimping my skin and knew she was OK. She was early and small and I always felt nervous with her in the carseat (even though she passed the NICU car-seat test)...she just looked funny to me. But holding her I knew she was OK. And she did well being swaddled and put down when I needed because she was held so much. The big thing is you just can't fall asleep with them in the carrier when they are little so they don't smother or whatever.
However once she was a big girl and crawling, about 9 mo old, she got that awful hand-foot-mouth disease and had the blisters in her ears and mouth. We slept comfortably with her on my chest in the carrier, upright so she could breathe, in her big soft nursery glider. It was a lifesaver because I could sleep a little too and know I wouldn't drop her on the floor. She wouldn't sleep without me and was a mess in bed with us so that seemed to be a good solution.

@deezidee04 - Thanks so much for the check in and sorry I was MIA last week. My grandmother passed away and I was busy helping out, finalizing and setting up for my best friends wedding. So excited for you that you are so close to holding your rainbow!!
@chicagojackie and @footprint - I really want an Ergo as well! I have heard about the new Ergo baby four position 360 that allows your little one to also sit face forward... looks awesome. 2nd choice is the performance for me! Does it make you hot walking around with it on during the Summer or it is air wicking?
@footprint- Good luck with your anatomy ULT. I will be thinking of you
EDD/How many weeks/Fruit? 11 weeks - prune

Appts/ Updates? I have my NT scan coming up this Monday and am super nervous and excited. Minus seeing our little one.. I am really praying that they are able to see a bladder. If they see a bladder that means that he/she has kidneys which would mean our little one will have a chance at life this time!! If not I have to wait until the anatomy scan 11/3 when they will check for the bladder and kidneys at that time. Either way.. I keep praying!
How are you feeling? Very fatigued and tired... but I have not been to good about exercising which I bet it a big contributor.
What are you craving? Bagels and cream cheese
QOTW: What quality/trait do you most hope your LO inherits from you? My love of people and animals. And from your partner? His big heart, his butt chin and his upbeat personality. I could list so many more as he is such a great man (I am a little biased I know)... if they inherit any of his traits they will be lucky little ones
I keep reading that you want your little one to inherits his big butt. I'm sorry but I keep cracking up!
