Not really. You can do the pain meds and not the epi, but there's no alternative to the epi that I'm aware of. I know someone that couldn't have an epi due to allergies. She did pain meds but that didn't do as much as the epi would have.
There are also non-medical ways to deal with pain. Laboring in a tub or shower can work wonders for pain relief, as can massage, meditation (Hypno babies, etc) and accupressure.
I'm not sure I understand your question, but if you are asking about pain relief methods other than epidurals, there are some options. Most hospitals offer narcotics via IV that may take the edge off. As @mb314 mentioned, some hospitals even offer nitrous oxide as a pain relief measure.
There are also med-free pain relief options like controlled breathing, laboring in a tub, and massage.
This is a conversation you need to have with your doctor, though. Not all hospitals are equipped with the same things, and your OB would be able to give you a better idea of what to expect.

I mean, look around. There are computers, crayons, lemons, internet message boards..
Epidurals are not the only things ever.
