Glider with ottoman vs recliner/rocker?

I was initially planning to get a gliding recliner that would be comfy but that didn't look like nursery furniture so we could use after baby. My mom ended up giving us a glider/ottoman though so that's what we'll have! They serve the same purpose and I'd imagine comfort is pretty comparable, so if I were buying I'd probably pick the most versatile option for reuse.

I was a nanny and didn't enjoy the Dutelier glider. I much prefer glider recliners from a company like Best Furniture's Lullaby collection, so that's what we got. And we LOVE it! Definitely more expensive but was worth it for us!

 I got a rocking chair with an ottoman. Maybe it's a glider but it doesn't "look" like a glider...I hated the way they looked. It looks like a normal sofa chair, it just happens to rock. Originally I wasn't going to get an ottoman but I went to the store to test them out and mmmmm comfy

I want a recliner. I was trying to put one from Little Castle on my registry at BBB this weekend but they couldn't figure out how to add the fabric color combo I wanted. The lady helping me was so unprofessional & not the brightest. She called another employee over for help & after 25 minutes they still could not figure it out so I said forget it & left! Sorry for the novel but this just happened yesterday so I'm still annoyed! :::sigh:::

I don't like the look of these, either. I'm looking for something that can transition or even work in another room later, but some of those gliders are more expensive than all of my nursery furniture put together!! I'm leaning towards a recliner, but can't decide

We plan on getting a glider/recliner. I want the option of something soft and comfortable, and something I could easily recline and take a nap in the room if I wanted while baby naps. I'd like to be able to use it elsewhere in the future. I ended up getting a recliner for DS and I never used it. For the twins I don't think I'll use it either since it probably won't be wide enough. Luckily it is an upholstered recliner so we can move it and use it somewhere else in the house.

I have no idea what brand we got. I went to BBB and fell in love with this over sized corduroy power recliner. Someone had special ordered it and didn't like the color. They had it marked down from $850 to $650 and I had one of their 20% off coupons. When they rang it up I'm not how they messed it up so bad, I only ended up paying $370 for the chair.

The nursery will be a little tight now, but that's ok. I know how much we used a rocking chair with DD that I wanted a good one.

I would love one of those old fashioned rockers. But I can't find em anywhere. Instead, we are getting one of those rockers from BRU, unless I can find something I like better.

I don't really like the gliders. I want some kind of recliner that rocks.

We have a Best Chair rocker/recliner. Both DH and myself have spent a few nights sleeping in that chair - love it!!

I hadn't thought about this - we're not up to the furniture planning stages yet.  I have an old fashioned wooden rocking chair that I inherited from my SiL, and I just assumed we would use that. Now you guys have given me glider/recliner envy. 

I guess we'll see how much I'm tempted if I ever make it to the nursery planning stage.

I think that's the one we got! The store called it "Linda" as a model but it looks very similar, in a blue swirly fabric. We love it!
