Antibiotics & cd'ing

Hey ladies. DS just started on amoxicillin. Poor kid! :( Is there anything different I need to do while he's on the antibiotic?

  • Awesome! I've never had to deal with him being sick. It sucks for all involved! Poor thing can't breathe when he's nursing.

  • We never had any trouble either, but I have heard of some people getting weird pink stains from anti-biotic poo. I second looking into probiotics for him.

  • In my experience, the antibiotic led to a yeast rash.  But like other posters mentioned, there's nothing you need to do immediately - just watch for a rash. And if you see one it could be your little one is getting a yeast rash - at which point, you'll need to start bleaching your diapers daily up to 5 days after the rash is gone. Here's more info on dealing with yeast rashes.

Again, it may not be a problem for you.  Just wanted to give you a heads up because of my experience.

Do they all go to her blog or something? So annoying.

    Interesting comments...
didn't realize this was an old post
i have 3 kiddos.  the first 2 were around 2010 - 2011.  i have a new edition to the family so figured I'd get back into the forums and see what's changed
don't have a blog just love that particular article on yeast rashes.  whenever my kiddos got one i always referenced it for tips so figured i'd share
i thought the point of these forums was to help others and get help with cloth diapers...
didn't realize posting links was an issue

I think we were just wondering if you were a real person because we have occasionally had problems with spam on this board. Welcome back. Oh, and we talk about more than just cloth diapers here -- feel free to jump in!
