Doughnut is CORRECT. But because of branding, we use Donut so much that it's, like, sort of also correct. Like how a tissue is a Kleenex. Or a copy is a Xerox.

Yeah Hoover is actually a brand. I didn't know this until about 6 months ago!

Yeah, I know it's a brand, but we don't call vacuums hoovers!

We call all sodas "cokes" though.

I tried the pumpkin pie doughnut today.

Ehhhh....

But I love the standard pumpkin doughnut with glaze.  I normally hate dunkin donuts, but that is one yummy doughnut.

It makes me laugh that this has 111 votes.  I'm also surprised that the clear winner is Donut.  Who knew?

I also now want a donut.  I don't have a dunkin' donuts close by to try this pumpkin doughnut that everyone is speaking about.  I'm a little sad.

We have a local grocery store here that makes doughnuts and they are seriously better than dunkin donuts! ~O)

2 of the grocery stores here have bakeries inside.  They're pretty legit.  We used to have a small family owned bakery which was freaking amazing but they ended up closing.  They had the best pastries and cakes and basically everything.
