Car Accident

I was in a minor car accident yesterday. I went to the hospital and they kept the baby on the monitor for awhile. They took some blood but then said everything looked fine and sent me home. He's been moving a lot and I don't have pain or bleeding but I am still so worried something might be wrong. :( Luckily it's the weekend and don't have to go to work or anything, but when I lay around I just worry more!

Re: Car Accident

  • I'm glad everything is fine. The stress from worrying isn't good for the baby, either. I'd try and relax, follow any instructions the doctors gave when you left the hospital, and just be vigilant and go back in to your OB or L&D if you notice any weird symptoms, decreased movement, etc. Sorry you had to go through that.

  • I would be the same way. It's natural to worry. But try to remin yourself that medical professionals checked you out. Stay busy and you won't think too much!
  • Don't worry, it sounds like the hospital followed procedure and they felt comfortable discharging you. Take it easy and I'm glad you and baby are ok
  • I'm glad you're ok! Get some rest and try to relax.

  • So sorry that it happened. I was in a car accident at 24 weeks, and my car was totaled....they also kept me for 4 hours did heartbeat monitoring and an ultrasound. I know it's hard to not worry because of our maternity instinct but it's a good sign that they released you. Baby moving should also be reassuring, take care!

  • So glad you are ok! It is natural to worry but baby is pretty protected in there. The hospital would have kept you for observation if they had any doubts. Hugs!
  • Im glad you and your little one is fine. The exact same thing happen to me I was beyond afraid that maybe they miss something or maybe in the rest of my pregnancy something would come up but I've been fine so far I still get a little worried though.
  • Glad everything is ok! Try not to worry.

  • I completely understand being freaked out but try to relax. Baby is telling you s/he is doing well by moving around and the hospital wouldn't have let you out if they were at all worried. Try to do something to distract yourself and let the tension out. I'm so glad you and baby are okay!
