Okay, so at doctor, they said I was twenty pounds lighter than when I conceived, so I was jazzed until I tried on my pants. Shirts are looser, pants can't be button.
I have been struggling with my weight pre-prego, and now that I lost some, I thought I could wear the pants. Or even go down a size.
Yup, pregnancy shifts things around a bit. Also your hips widen to make extra room for baby. But typically they return to their previous place over the months following delivery. So it could be that. Don't stress about it!
I'm also back to my pre pregnancy weight, but can't button my pants. I go back to work in a week and would really love to avoid using the belly bands, although its a better alternative to buying new pants.
Yup...I'm not back to pp weight yet, but with my prior pregnancies this happened to me. I was UNDER my pp weight and still couldn't fit in my pants. It's takes awhile for your stomach to get back to normal (and your hips). I'd say 4-6 months, or more.
I am 20 lbs lighter but I have to lose 10 more lbs to get to the weight I was before I had DD1. I have a ton of pants that I can not even get over my thighs. At risk of sounding like an ass, they are size 0s. I do not think I can ever get down to that size again.
I still have some weight to go before being back to pre prego weight, but I can button my old pants up, I just feel like a stuffed sausage when I do. The problem is that my maternity pants are all too big! Super frustrating. I'm back to work to a little over three weeks and I am praying I will be able to have a bit of a wardrobe that fits by then.
I haven't tried my pre-pregnancy jeans yet… but I'm within a few lbs of pre-pregnancy weight.
OB told me not to not freak out because those relaxed ligaments that loosened the pelvis and rib cage, etc will tighten and return to normal (or close to it) but it takes several months. Hang in there. It'll happen.
BTW, NY&Co has awesome jeans I that are so comfortable around the hips and fit perfectly.
Bought two pairs from there in my pre pregnancy size, and I can actually wear them! Sure I need to wear loose shirts to hide the muffin top, but it's a start!
My clothes fit ok, yes I need to tone things up but now I'm limited to nursing friendly clothes. I was never one to show cleavage so don't have too many low tops I can pull down, and now with fall it's gonna be tricky because I'm not a tee shirt and jeans person.
Does anyone else feel like they are slouching now because of softer ab/core muscles?
Yes! sadly this is the main reason I want to exercise now, because my back hurts so bad. My MW adviced to work out back muscles and wait to do abs in another month.
I've been investing in looser sleeveless tops/tunics and and will pair with cardigans when it gets cooler. That way it's nursing friendly and comfortable. For now I'm wearing my smallest pair of maternity jeans/yoga pants and leggings.
@MsGrace2003 The 30s are awesome. Don't let the number make you feel blah. I far prefer them to my 20s.
I can wear my fat jeans. I can't even get most of my other jeans over my thighs. This happened last time too and I did eventually fit into my clothes again without looking like a sausage. It just took a loooong time.

I'm wearing my fat/weekend jeans today. Weird to have a zipper and button...
My muffin top is rocking out in a major way, but I can button my super stretchy fat jeans. Just hell yes to the flowy/loose tops! My prepreg weight was about 10 over my baseline, will see where I'm at next week.
last time my hips went back down/ my ribcage never did. I'm still one band size up from my old standard, and tighter fitting shirts from before are just obscene, even before I got pregnant/nursing again
I refuse to step on my scale at home and have not had my 6 week PP visit yet but I'm almost certain I'm not back to pre pregnancy weight. This post inspired me to atleast try on my jeans though. Yeah, big fat nope.I can button them but are less than flattering! Can't wait for the all clear to get back to yoga and exercise other than walking. For now, back to my sweats and yoga pants
Oh man. You ladies put me to shame. So jealous. I am still in maternity pants. I've lost 30lbs so far but have 25lbs to go to get to pre preg weight. Been working out a ton and been on weight watchers for 2 weeks now (lost 6 lbs in those 2 weeks.. Yay me!) I can't wait to fit into my size 6 favorite jeans! So jealous of you girls!
I can't wear any of my pre-pregnancy shirts or suit jackets. My button down shirts are seriously 6 inches away from closing! Suit jackets I wore at 6 months pregnant also don't close. I think I need to go up another bra size and order online.
I lost 40 lb, and still have 10 to go, 15 to a more ideal weight. My pants are at least close to fitting although I'm still in all maternity pants. I broke down and bought new t-shirts since the maternity ones were looking too big. I've started walking more which is helping with the muffin but I don't know that my chest is going to go back down while I'm nursing.

This is my issue too. Belly is all soft and squishy, but I can fit into everything. I just want the muffin top to go away. I feel gross.

Yes and I hate it.
