Compare your gestation lengths between pregnancies

Forgive me for mostly lurking... But I have a question for moms of 2+. How did the length of gestation compare between your pregnancies? I thought people always said first babies tend to come later. But now I keep hearing endless anecdotes about 2nd babies coming one week or more later than first babies. I know all pregnancies are different for everyone. I'm just looking for anecdotes. My first was one week early and I just hate not knowing when things will happen! This part where we wait and see exactly what day everything else in our life is put on halt and things change forever in a crazy way...I think this is one of the hardest parts of pregnancy!

Dang auto correct. I mean length not lungs! Gestation lungs would be nice though. I fixed it.

All I can say is #1 went to 41.5 zero progression and induction followed by a C. I think I only got to a 4

#2 was RCS at 39w but I was having contractions the morning I went in. I have no clue if they would have turned into the real deal

#3- im only 38w and still zero progression, RCS at 39w

My first was two days late and my second was three weeks early but I had to be induced.

First was an emergency c section at 32 weeks after a failed induction, second snd third both RCS at 39 weeks, little lady was born yesterday at 36 weeks, also rcs but early due to complications

#1   4 days early on her own after naturally going into labor 39 hours before she was actually born (looong back labor!  Ended up needing pitocin when I stalled at 5cm but all was good.)

#2   3 days early due to induction.  Now I had been contracting every 10 minutes or less nonstop for a week straight, was a little more than 3cm and 90% effaced and the induction (pitocin and breaking my water) led to a very quick and easy labor and a super fast delivery. 

#3   Still in there (thankfully) and as of my 36 week appt, there is NOTHING going on with my cervix.  No dilation, thinning or softening. I'm not too worried.  If I remember correctly with my first,  there was no progress the day before I went into labor.  With #2 there was no progress until my 39 week appt when I was suddenly 3cm and almost totally effaced. 

But #2 was a day later than #1 and it was by induction.  Most moms I know IRL either had #1 and #2 about the exact same time OR #2 came later by at least a little

#2, 40 weeks, natural 6 hours labor
#3, 36 weeks and still inside!

#1- born 5 days early #2- born 4 days early #3 born 3 weeks early

2-came at 39+0
3-came at 38+1

All came naturally ( no inductions).

I can only answer for my mom--I am the youngest of three. Her experience was:
1st-girl- due date
2nd-boy- 9 days late
3rd-girl- due date

My first was born at 37+4.
I am still pregnant with my second and will be 39 weeks tomorrow.

There was a poll about this about a week ago if your interested. My first two were both induced at 41 weeks, and I'm assuming that will be the case this time as well.

Babies 1, 2, and 3 came at 39 wks and 4 days exactly. This one is still hanging on at 39+5.

I'm surprised I missed the poll. I'm usually a thorough lurker! Ah well, guess I'll just have wait and see how prompt this lo is. Some day maybe there'll be a pee test for (accurately) predicting labor dates like there is for pregnancy and ovulation! That's be awesome.

#2 - 39 weeks 1 days (natural)
#3 - 37 weeks today and still baking!

I agree that's been one of the hardest parts for me is just knowing it can happen at anytime and I have no idea when exactly and no control over it! It's exciting but torture, never knew what a control freak I am! My first was on his due date, natural. This one is still baking...

#1 - natural preterm water break at 34+5 days

#2 - induced at 34+6 days

#3 - natural preterm at 36+4 days

Good post! I have been dying about this! My first was eleven days early, and I am currently four days from the gestation when he was born. The curiosity is killing me!

ETA: I really, really wanted to get to at least 38 weeks with this pregnancy, and it's looking like we'll make it. I am over the moon today!

#1 - 3 days late
#2 - 9 days late
#3 - still inside, but will be induced at 39 weeks because of some medical concerns.

#3  We'll see.  I was dialated to a 1cm at 37wks, which was more than with DS2 at the same point.

1. C-section at 38.5w due to breech
2. Vbac at 35.5 week water broke
3. Vbac 37w with shots (at 37 w appt Dr checked me and I was 6 in labor)
4. 33 w emergency c because in labor and babu was breech.

With my first I was induced and he was born 3 days early and I started out at 3 cm 75% effaced and then had a 19 hour labor.
With my 2nd the doctor broke my water the day after his due date and labor started. I started out at 2 cm and 50% effaced. Had an 8 hour labor.
Really hoping to go into labor on my own this time but having lots of problems so I'd say I'll be induced no later than 39 weeks. I'm 35.3 now.
