This thread will either help me get my butt in gear or ease my nerves...
Does anyone still need to get any big ticket items for baby?
I still need:
- A convertible car seat; we have the infant seat but I'm assuming LO will grow out of it by 11 mos or so like DD did.
- A crib - MIL said she would buy this but I will feel better about it when she gives me the delivery receipt (but we really don't need it until LO turns 3 months)
- Waiting for the armoire to be delivered in Nov but still have to pay for it
- Baby monitor, even though we already have one to hear DD in the nursery from our bedroom and living room I want one so that I can hear from the kitchen.
- Sheets for bassinet and crib
I guess that's not much but there's just something about having everything ready that would be so much more relaxing...
I better add new pump parts to this list!
Re: Items you still need for baby?
The 2nd car seat base for DH's truck just arrived! Glider is on its way. Other than that I feel we have all of our big things. LO will be sleeping in her room from day 1 so we had to get all our big things now. Her room is completely furnished and we just have small things to go. Extra crib sheets, some receiving blankets, mittens, socks, hangers, a lamp...

I got all my wet bags from Amazon.com, if you mean the ones to take with you in diaper bags like this:
https://www.amazon.com/Bumkins-Waterproof-Zippered-Purple-Dandelion/dp/B00D4LFC3W/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1411758421&sr=8-3&keywords=wet+bag
I still need a breast pump (have to wait until 30 days prior as someone else said), some crib sheets, and a changing pad and covers. Diaper pail too. And a ton more wipes. We're hesitating on stocking up on diapers until we know what brand we like.
N14 Nov. Siggy: CELEBRATION!
Still need:
An easy coming home outfit
A K'Tan carrier that fits DH or a Mai Tai
A co-sleeper* and extra sheets for it
Burp cloths
*We got a bassinet but after our breastfeeding class I really want LO next to me for 3-6 months before moving to a crib. So we will either get one of the co-sleepers that can rest in the bed or an Arms Reach co-sleepers.
I feel like there is a lot more I "want" - not sure how much are "needs" at this point! I'm not worrying about a baby monitor until she starts sleeping in the nursery around 3 months or so.
-baby monitor
-changing pad
-diaper bag (hopefully at shower this weekend!)
-bag for breast pump
-nursing bras
-winter clothes
-wipes (we have a pretty good stock of diapers to start!)
-mopy wrap - found a lightly used one for $15 now just need to buy it from the lady
-shampoo/lotion/thermometer
- changing pad and covers
- diaper pail
- clothes. We were told not to buy any until after the shower. I am getting really nervous about this.
- nursing bras and breast pump.
We have two showers in October so I will wait to fill in the gaps afterwards. I plan on having everything ready by 11/1. Fingers crossed.
Breast pump (through insurance)
Breast feeding supplies (storage bags, lanolin, pads, cover, etc)
Nursing bras/camis
Extra crib sheets
Changing pad covers
Then after baby I'll get my final "big" items
Convertible car seat
High chair
Ugh, I'm feeling like we still need a lot.
- monitor
- stroller (picked out and my dad and DH's mom are supposedly buying it for us)
- sheets
- diaper bag
- a second diaper pail? (Haven't decided on this. We will have a changing spot up and downstairs- think I need 2?)
- a few more sleepers/clothes in 0-3 month size
- diapers and wipes etc.
- second breastfeeding pillow?
- swing or bouncy seat- will just get one and then see if I want the other. Will likely buy second hand.
- replacement parts for Medela pump SIL gave me and bags to store milk
- car mirror and sun shades
- Nosefrida- likely not a necessity, but everyone says how awesome it is.
- Post-partum supplies for me
Why is my list longer than everyone else's!?
TTC since Sept 2011, Unexplained IF
Oct 12 - Jan 14: 3 clomid/TI cycles, 2 hysteroscopies, 2 IUIs, 1 BFP (MMC @ 12w), 2 more IUIs
Feb 14: Gonal-f + IUI #5 = BFP! (EDD 11/4/14)
Baby boy arrived 11/13/14!
- my new pump
-some pumping supplies
-double stroller (want)
-a few preemie outfits (the nurses that do my NSTs are giving me 2 1/2 more weeks)
And that should be it
Carrier (I have my moby, but also want an ergo)
Sound machine
my happy boy
The luxuries i want: more bottles, a/a swaddles and changing pad cover, dream blankie, tucks, a new robe, sound machine/projector, wash cloths, breast pump bra, nursing tanks, leggings for hospital, swing, the leachco infant seat lounger i want, nursing pads, storage bags. All of these will be purchased next week sometime as well!
Breastmilk storage bags
Wubba nub
Double stroller
Monitor
Bottle nipples (just in case)
Diapers
DD a goodie bag for the hospital
Edit: remembered a couple more
We still need:
Changing pad covers
Cloth diaper covers
Moby wrap
Breast pump (can order it after baby is born)
New bottle nipples
Receiving blankets
Hand mittens
I think that's it.
My work friends are hosting a shower on October 9th and my non-work friends are hosting one on Nov 2nd - so well, we have pretty much nothing at this point.
I was impressed with myself for just making my registry last weekend!
-car seat base for DH's car
-breast pump (need to order through insurance)
-breast bump accessories
I'm sure I'm missing something but off the top of my head these are things I know we're missing. I don't have the exersaucer but it's not needed for a while.
Now that's an idea I can get on board with!
Opening the curb trash during 1st and 2nd trimester was a no go for me. It made me extremely nauseous and puke about 50% of the time. So, DH went and bought Arm and Hammer bags. It keeps the smell of the diaper in the bag. He got them at Target. They are amazing.
I'm waiting for my damn BBB completion discount. My shower was a month ago. I called and they said they email it TEN days before your due date which IMO is ridiculous.
Good thing I lied about my due date by a month so I'll get it next week.
FYI for everyone who hadn't ordered their breastpump. I "upped" my due date by a month there too. The girl on the phone told me to with twins. No one checked and I got it in the mail last week.
