Pregnant after IF

EEeee! Back to the OB (Feel free to ignore my squeeing)

Squee posts sometimes annoy me, but I'm going to be that person for a minute. I went back to my OB today and I wanted to cry happy tears. The kindness and warmth of the office was so incredible and has been so missed while at my RE's practice. They asked me questions like a normal pregnant person! And the CNP spent an hour with me asking for questions and being so thorough. I am so thankful that I got into this office because they are no longer taking new patients as my OB is the number one-rated in our city; he's so nice I'm sure that's a big part of it.

and for anyone who remembers my prometrium saga of being stopped at 6 1/2 weeks- I ended up continuing until 8 1/2 weeks and was told by RE on Tuesday to just stop already. My CNP was so confused today when I told her I was stopped. She said it's totally fine to take throughout tri 1 and they do not take patients who have been on it off of it until Week 12. Um, amen? Why was this such a pissing contest at RE's office?!

I told DH this all feels too good to be true. I am so happy to be a "normal" person today.

  • So glad you like your OB! I should have mentioned somewhere that mine told me to keep up the PIO for the remainder of the first tri, too. She also did another blood draw (awaiting results) to check on levels.

  • It's so weird to be there. My friend wants me to start doing weekly belly pictures but I am still so scared to death. Doesn't help that someone posted a story on facebook tonight about a late miscarriage. (Smh) I need to stay off the Internet... I was feeling great this morning.
  • Feel great! It's awesome to know you're in good hands that you can trust with your care and the care of your little bean! So glad you got in there!
FWIW....all the REs in my area (and myself, when I do progesterone supplementation) keep pt's on some version of progesterone 10-12 weeks. The only people who get stopped earlier are IUI pregnancies. All IVF pregnancies keep their support through first tri. Congrats on a good day!
    Married 2007
    3 Clomid IUIs -- BFNs
IVF #1 never made it to transfer
    On "egg health" cocktail DHEA/CoQ10/FRC/Pregnitude/Melatonin
Starting IVF #2 for Feb 2013
    Follistim/Menopur/Ganirelix
Cancelled mid-cycle due to high P4 levels early on.
OCPs again for IVF 2.5 mid-March. IVF 2.5 transferred two "gorgeous" 5-day blasts and BFFN. Even REI is baffled
On indefinite hold until a huge stroke of serendipity led me to IVF 3 May 2014
Testing found positive cardiolipins/APS, now on lovenox and intralipid infusions
Transfer of 2 5-day blasts and (FINALLY) BFFP!! 1st ultrasound shows two sacs and two HB, but one is sluggish, almost expecting vanishing twin Subsequent ultrasound confirmed vanishing twin, but my other Little critter looks fantastic!
