I just stuck both my kids in front of Sesame Street for an hour so I could catch up on the UO thread and other TB shenanigans.

DD has a drop-rail crib. 

It was given to us by DH's cousin who used it for all 3 of her kids. The slats are within regulation, so I took it. We haven't done anything to modify it, the mattress is on the highest level, and I use the drop rail all.the.time. It's so much easier to transfer a sleeping babe without having to bend way down. When she gets older and starts moving and crawling and whatnot (right now she doesn't move at all in her sleep), we'll probably fix it so that the rail stays put. Maybe.

DD has been laying in her play mat since we got up at 8:30.  She was playing with her toys for the first hour, and has been watching tv ever since.  My FFFC is as long as she's happy she can keep watching tv.

My MIL sourced a drop-rail crib for us but I turned it down. It was right after baby was born, she set it up in her spare bedroom at her house, complete with padded Disney crib bumpers, so baby would have a place to sleep when we are over there. It was given by an old family friend, MIL picked it up and set it up with sheets and everything. 

My FFFC is that I actually didn't think it was *that* but a deal, but I just wanted to drive home the point that I follow current standards and I get final say on baby gear. 

I also don't like Disney.

I'm having gall bladder surgery on the 10th and I'm very sad at the fact I will never eat cheese again!! Or a cheeseburger because apparently it will give you chronic diarrhea .. I may or may not just sneak one in once a month and get the diarrhea. %-(

I'm in pre-op for a small surgery right now. I am having general anesthesia and won't be very mobile for the weekend (knee surgery). I am looking forward to a weekend of being in bed or on the couch with DH caring for DD, except I still have to nurse. I know it s going to be hard for him but I'm going to have a decent 48 break.

The only thing both of our moms agree on is that DH and I do everything wrong when it comes to parenting decisions.

@SSoegaard2011‌ yeah that's a special kind of pain isn't it! I've had two attacks in less than a week. Seriously I would go through child birth ten times over like you said. Mine last about 4 hours and yeah we ended up in urgent care both times for morphine. I was screaming bawling which I didn't even do while I was in labor for 19.5 hours. That's good to know you eat cheese! I haven't had any in a week or any dairy and I'm going crazy! Yeah I'm pretty excited to have surgery and that sounds awful..

DS developed a bad diaper rash on Monday. I wanted to get some air circulation to help with healing. I put a waterproof mat on the floor and let him have naked time, but after he let the firehouse go off a couple times I got irritated. I thought, "If only there was a way I could cover the front, but keep the back open." 

So.... I grabbed a disposable diaper, cut a hole in the back and fashioned him a pair of assless chaps. He then played Magic Mike for the rest of the evening. )

My FFFC: I hate that DS has the same first name as DH. He insisted, so we compromised and DS has a different middle name but still the same first name, but we still call him by his first name. It's so confusing. He has a nickname different from what I call DH, but I hate that too, and DH's family still uses it when referring to DH. (They are both named Ben and DH went by Benji when he was growing up, and that's what we've been calling DS to avoid the two-Ben confusion). I just really hope that when he's old enough to decide what he wants to go by he'll choose his middle name - but that's so far away.

I'm at a conference listening to a lecture titled "Mindfulness for the Absent-minded." My mind wandered off shortly after she described a kid staring out the window daydreaming. So now I'm wasting my job's money and getting caught up on the bump.

Same here. My MIL is so self-centered that when DH was in the hospital, she almost didn't come visit because she didn't like the parking garage and then after the visit, all she did was complain that her feet swelled. I'm no longer speaking to my ILs for various reasons. But they are so self-absorbed they don't realize it.

I too let DS watch too much TV. But he loves it and baby Einstein calms him down.

Everything DH does annoys the crap out of me. We have a lot going on and it's very stressful and I don't feel like he pulls his weight. So now I'm that bitchy wife. And IDGAF.

I'm currently letting DD put stickers all over my arm because it's occupying her while I read the bump.

I never really got that actual conversations with my two year old series until I had one.

Today she spent 15 minutes crying on the kitchen floor because I gave her the grapes she asked for.  I bumped and intermittently asked her if wanted the grapes yet.

I roll my eyes every time when TB home page has advertisements for birth announcements that have pictures of babies that are laying on their bellies holding their heads up smiling. I call BS!!! No newborn can do those things. And why would anyone wait to do a birth announcement until their child is 4 months old??

I guess if there is someone who you have been hiding the fact that you had a baby from for 4 months, then I am sure a card in the mail wouldn't hurt at this point. Better late than never???

LOL I thought about doubling my Christmas card as a baby announcement... Is that weird?
But I'm pretty sure everyone knows I've had the baby. Maybe if I send announcements out The Bump won't think I'm 60 weeks pregnant anymore.

I've tried to watch because my whole family is obsessed but I just find it to be lame jokes and a laugh track

I'm with you. I even went to a live taping and my favorite part was the pizza they brought us at break.
