37 Weekers Sleep And the Newborn

For those with early term or 37 weekers when do they "wake-up"? My only experience is my 41+ week singleton who was born wide awake. These two are a week old (born at 37 weeks) and *maybe* have their eyes open for a total of an hour or two a day. My DH keeps telling me to enjoy the honeymoon period while it lasts, but just curious when your multiples came around. TIA!

Just to add, they sleep about 22 to 23 hours a day. If they aren't eating they are sleeping and are usually sleeping by in by the time they are done eating. They even fall asleep during tummy time!

Til their due date. My oldest was born at 37w and the twins at 34w. All of them were either eating or sleeping - and often fell asleep while eating.

Are they waking to eat about every 3-4hrs? Mine always did and then went right back to sleep. That's the only concern I'd have w them sleeping so much.

You'll see a lot more awake time once they get closer to their due date.

Thank you!! I am waking them to eat every 2-3 hours during the day and giving them 3 at night, but it can be very hard to wake them up sometimes. If I left them to their own devices they would sleep all day - not good!

Good question. My singleton was 41 weeks and "wide awake" too. I never thought the twins would probably be sleepier.

My girls were born at 36,5 and I don't remember them being particularly sleepy. We did have to wake them to eat for about 3 weeks. That sucked. Congrats on your newest additions!

Those first few weeks were SUCH a honeymoon! I remember all hell breaking loose at about 3 weeks old (so right around their due date.) Then no one slept for about a year

Yup. Mine were born right at 37 weeks and I remember thinking twins aren't so hard. Lol. They woke up around their due date.

Thanks ladies! My DS was born a non-sleeping hell raiser so I have accepted the challenge times two! Just waiting in anticipation for it to all begin!

My guys were born at 38 weeks but they were very sleepy for the first few weeks. It's a blur now but I think it was probably the first 2-3 weeks?
