How often are your LO's going? She was going every other day until recently. She had a 4 day hold out, then a 6.
What is your pediatrician saying (if you have asked)? At our 2 mos appt, he told me to call if no poo after 5 days. When I called on say 5, he says this is "within the realm of normal" and suggested 1-2 oz of Pedialyte daily until she goes.
Does LO seem uncomfortable between poos? Day 5 she seemed subdued, not babbling as much as normal and was straining, grunting, getting mad.
Are you doing anything to help it along? Until we added the pedialyte, we were bicycling the legs and rubbing the upside down horseshoe on the belly. That had always helped before.
Mine had been going 4 to 6 days between poops for a long time -- since week 2 or so. Pedi wasn't worried but said I could try to induce by taking a rectal temp once a day. That sometimes helped. My LO used to seem uncomfortable (grunty etc.) after a few poopless days but lately has seemed less so.
Now, suddenly this week (at 8.5/9 weeks), it's like a switch has flipped and she has figured out how to poop every day, even twice a day. I'm kind of missing those poopless stretches so be careful what you wish for! ;-)
My baby didn't poop for 9 days a couple times so she's on a tsp of miralax a day. Even with the miralax, she doesn't go except for every 3-4days. She also gets prune juice daily, which she loves. When she doesn't go about day 5 she's as mad as a hornet and is inconsolable, so we use a suppository to help her out. LO is 12wks 2 days.
Mine poops every other day right now. On the days she does poop it's huge poop diapers, usually 2-3. It's hard for me to even tell the consistency because there is just so much poop everywhere that the diapers can' barely hold it. Every once in awhile she will throw me off and poop two days in a row and I get excited thinking that maybe this will be the new normal. But, it never is. I've never brought it up to the pediatrician because it doesn't seem to bother her to not poop on the days she doesn't, and I don't know what they would tell me except to take even more things out of my diet.
Omg. She's going longer and longer between poops. This time is been 11 days. Every time we talk to the pedi, they tell us BF babies don't poo every day.
She's always fine until the last couple of days. Then she starts pulling her legs up and gets really uncomfortable. I can hear it moving around in there. The gut noises increase.
We are doing bicycles, massage, giving her probiotics every day in a bottle, and giving her prune juice - and I've been having a glass of Prune juice every day. Nothing is working.
Needless to say that I am frustrated. DS didn't poop every day, but this is ridiculous. (
I'm calling the doctor tomorrow again. Ughhhh.
This!! 7-12 days between poops! Not uncomfortable until the last few days, but so gassy!! Smelly, nasty, clear-room gas. Our pedi said to try aloe Vera juice and probiotics. Didn't help so I gave her some pear juice. It works! DD is BF. Her twin goes every 3-4 days.

This is how LO was - EOD poosplosions. There wasn't a diaper that could hold it. Smaller sizes and it leaked out the top of the diaper at the back and bigger diapers leaked out the legs. Week 12 hit and she shifted to every 3-4 days. Then 6.
DS poops pretty much daily, but DD would poop maybe 1x per week, and would have what I referred to as poop marathons.
Once she started, I would wait a couple minutes, change her because she would have filled a diaper.
I would hold the second diaper in place while she filled that one, and we typically repeated this until she had filled 3 diapers.
My pedi said it is only an issue if she's noticeably uncomfortable. If you don't want to go the juice route, we had luck with 1/2 oz of warm water in a bottle. Cleaned both kids right out.
DD has gone 8 days without pooping. More recently it's been every day or every other day. This all threw me for a loop since DS went at every feed. Pedi says it's normal for a BF baby. She does tend to get uncomfortable if she goes more than 2 days (she gets more gassy, grunty and doesn't settle very well, which makes for lovely sleeping).
EBF and she had been pooping every day, but for the last week it's been every other. She doesn't seem uncomfortable, and I have not called the doctor because I know it's NBD.
*SIGGY* Baby G born 6/6/14, 37 weeks 1 day due to preeclampsia. 5lb12oz 19" #2 due Christmas 2016.
My 11 week-old EBF baby poops an average of 4-5 times per day, usually right after nursing. I'm thrilled she's got a functioning digestive system, but that's a lot of poopy diapers.
Up until the last week, my LO was pooping multiple times a day. Now maybe once per day, or once every other day, and it's not very much. It was so sudden and kind of freaked me out.
Ugh @matthew930 poor kiddo! That's the weird thing - they can go that long between poops, yet NOT be "constipated," busting out with a perfectly normal consistency poo.
Officially 2 weeks since dd pooped. Calling the doctor tomorrow. I waited this long because the last time it was 12 days and they told me that it was normal. She's bout constipated... Just doesn't poop.
I feel like at this point it isn't normal. I'll let you know what they say.
My lo just went 10 days without pooping. I finally gave him one oz of Apple juice last night and one this morning. We've had 3poopsplosions so far tod
It was gradual for us. It went from multiple times a day to once a day at about 4 weeks. Then every other day 8-11ish weeks and have slowly gone to once a week over the last 4 weeks.
You need to try the windi from nose Frieda! Seriously try it!!! My daughter is very gassy and we have tried everything. This thing works miracles and always help release gas and poop. Check out the reviews online.

EBF babies can go 5-7 days though I start to panic if Logan goes over 24hrs without pooping. Happened once.
My LO is 11w1d.
