I had egg retrieval last November and had 5 frozen embryos. I didn't have a fresh transfer and it took 4 of those frosties to get me pregnant with a singleton. A few months ago I got a letter from the hospital saying the first year of storage is free, but after that it would cost $1250 / year to store my embryo (s), no matter how many I have. I'm a FTM and definitely want to have more kids, but I'm not sure if we should keep this little frosty because of the cost. I believe my insurance allows at least 2 rounds of IVF and I've only done 1 round.
So if you were me, would you pay > $1K to keep just 1 frosty? or do a fresh cycle when we're ready to have more kids? My IVF was covered 100% by insurance and I only paid $250. I would totally pay the $1250 if we had 2 frosties or more, but having only 1 makes the next FET less favorable. I need to decide before November comes.
TIA! Hopefully I'm not considered a bad person.............

Conception:
This is likely a decision only you can make, as only you know how much $1250 is in your family budget. Whatever you decide, you're not a bad person. There are no easy decisions with extra embryos!
