Well.... I am a day late and a dollar short..... They have thrown me in head first into this new position!
Alright-- How has it been going? Share the good, bad and ugly.
What is keeping you motivated to keep going?
With the colder months coming, how does your exercise routines change? Any creative ways to stay active in the cold months?
Re: Health/Fitness/Wellness Check In
The first week of Weight Watchers went great. I lost 3 pounds..... and celebrated by getting French fries which was a poor choice on my part. I definitely need to find a better reward system maybe getting a new nail polish or something....
Running is finally starting to "click" with me. I still hate it (and I say it numerous times while we are out) but it is getting easier to get the workout clothes on and get my butt out the door. Which is why I asked about changing it up in the winter months. I don't want to lose what I have been working towards but I also not into running in like 30 degree weather. So I am trying to decide if a cheap gym membership would do the trick or if I need to do something else in the winter months like weights or a dvd workout routine.
Hope everyone else week went well and if it didn't that they you can start fresh today!
My biggest motivator to keep going is for my DD (to be healthy) and for my future kids! I have about 14-15lbs more to go to get back to pre-pregnancy weight and my goal so we can TTC. I still have more to lose after that but I wanted to start with a reasonable goal and hope that I can do my best to keep eating clean and healthy while pregnant...
I LOVE walking in the fall weather. DD and I have some walks in our future.
Wow @Stephyfaith! 15 pounds that is fantastic keep it up! It certainly does get harder when it starts to come off slower.
@econmama Getting up on your vacation, you go! Love Chicago food!
On track for two this week too. I actually intentionally finished my class early so I could run on Tuesday. Shameful, maybe. But 2.5 hours into 3 hr. class everybody is ready to go.
I always get a bit behind in winter. Classes and swimming require advance planning. I need something flexible. Or maybe something like a workout buddy who could keepe accountable. I got a treadmill at a garage sale, so maybe I can use it.
The cooler weather means that I can go workout outside without sweating my balls off. We can also go on walks in the evenings too which will be really nice for DD.
@stephyfaith keep up the great work. And also to the other moms too.
@haddocky Our house is pretty tiny (and packed with stuff already) otherwise I would love to get a treadmill! DH seems to think it is some great idea that we can run into the cold months, while I say "o heck no!" I think I might actually get use out of the $10 planet fitness membership. Daycare opens @ 6:00a so I could ideally drop Allison off run to the gym and then even go home to get ready. Still trying to think out my plan of attack on that one.
@stephyfaith Daily burn workout? Is that a dvd workout or one that just has "daily challenges"? That sounds like it would be a great switch up.
@squirmworms Keep it up!! I have a lot of pre-baby clothes too that haven't seen the light of day since becoming pregnant! That is fantastic that you are still cutting out sweets! That takes a lot of will power!
We had a gym membership once but failed to us it. So maybe second time is a charm!?!?
It's always easier to keep going when I am following a program. When I was doing T25, I was part of a workout group. The accountability really helps me. Even though I am doing Cto5K alone, I'm still following the schedule. If I just do random workouts, I tend to start making excuses..
I prefer to run when it's cooler out, so I'm actually looking forward to the temp dropping. Although when it's really really cold, I guess I'll start up my indoor workouts again, such as T25 or Insanity.
Like you @LauraB1016, I also don't want to lose what I am working towards. I'm going to try to run in the cold as long as possible. But I'm also hoping to get pregnant in the next few months, so we'll see what happens.
I did run twice this week though!
Bonus: lots of walking at work. I am running errands all over town and everything is within walking distance.
I am scared for what winter will do to myworkout. No sunshine while I am home, no gym, no treadmill. I really am scared. I love running so much.

But really, I am sorry even if I'm a little thankful that I might be able to almost catch ya now
Sigh.
Maybe next week.
