Hey ladies. I've been reading and reading and driving myself crazy, so I guess it's time I actually introduce myself. I got married in March of this year, but late last year decided to go off birth control. I have PCOS, and I've been told it would probably be difficult for me to conceive, so I figured the earlier we started trying, the earlier we could get help if we're having issues. Well, low and behold, I got pregnant in January. I was shocked and thrilled! I miscarried at 9 weeks - the week before my wedding. I was devastated, but because of everything going on with the wedding, it helped that I didn't have time to lose it. I felt like I was doing pretty well emotionally until recently. Now that we're trying again, I have so many questions that I really don't have answers for. What if my PCOS prevents me from getting pregnant again? What if I do get pregnant and miscarry again? Since I don't really have anyone in my support system who's been through this, I'm looking forward to connecting with people who can relate.
I'll be at a new place providing support.

Hello, and welcome to the board. I'm very sorry for your loss. I don't have much experience to offer you in terms of PCOS. I would think that you conceiving once is a good sign but that's me speaking as a definite non-expert. As far as having a second miscarriage, your odds do not go up, I believe, unless there was some sort of identifiable cause. I believe the odds are just the same as miscarrying a first pregnancy. Unfortunately it is one of those scary risks that come along with being pregnant. Wishing you all the best.

Curious about my ute?
I was referred immediately to an RE once I was DX with PCOS. Is this a possibility for you? Make sure you get a full blood work up as there are many things that can be associated with PCOS such as thyroid issues, which I was also DX with. If you ever want to talk feel free to PM I'm by no means an expert but I'm willing to listen and advise as best I can.

Rmpar29, I was diagnosed a few years ago, and went to an endocrinologist for awhile. After many many visits and lots of blood work, I felt like I wasn't any better off than before, so I quit going. My cycles are pretty regular most of the time, but I've also had some pretty bad ruptured cysts. I don't think I'll go back to my endocrinologist, but if I need it, I'd be open to going to an RE. I haven't been tracking my temperature, but I think I'll start.
Meredithcarole, my edd was 10/6, so really close. To jj32 as well, I'm sorry for your loss. When I miscarried, it seemed like the type of thing you're not really supposed to talk about, especially amidst the wedding celebrations, which was incredibly isolating. It's comforting to know I wasn't the only one going through that.
