Implantation bleeding vs. Period

Hi! Any of you who had implantation bleeding can u describe length, color, heaviness? The last week I've had some very interesting symptoms, and now I'm bleeding with cramps. Based on my LMP my due date would be 6/11/14, and my next cycle is due this wknd.... Thanks!!

I cramped like it was the worst period ever with DD.  Then the next day I had my BFP.  I have not had any cramping or bleeding this time around...and I am 2 days 'late'.

If your period is due this weekend, anything you have felt in the last week is more likely normal PMS type symptoms due to increase progesterone during your luteal phase.

Implantation bleeding is fairly uncommon and you can only know once you get a BFP.  If it is red with normal AF like cramps it is most likely your period.

BTW are you charting?

My advice if you don't get a BFP this cycle...

Check out the TTGP Blog, they have a lot of good info.  And chart your temp or at least be using Fertility Friend to chart whatever you currently record.

A friend of mine bled dark brown blood for the first few weeks. She found out she was pregnant at five and a half weeks. Her OB did let her know that as long as it's brown and not bright red it's not a big deal.

I had some issues like that as well with my first pregnancy and was told the same thing (above). My doctor also told me it was my body getting rid of old blood.

With my first I had implantation bleeding -- it was really just spotting.  I had very little very light pink spotting and then more, but still not much, brown spotting.  It happened on and off from 3 days before my period was due until about a week after.  Pink was all at the beginning and then it was all brown.  At the time I thought I was just starting my period early and only took a pregnancy test to prove to my husband that it was safe for me to drink at a friend's wedding.  Turns out I didn't drink at the wedding.  Now I have a 19 month old.  Take a test and see what it says.

I had implantation bleeding last time around and it was only a tiny spot, like a single wipe.  I thought my period was starting, but I would be wrong :-)

It sounds like it varies, so take the test :-)

I am currently in the tww and had a tiny bit of spotting, like McSarah1104 said, tiny once and done....on 4dpo....I was wondering, or more like hoping, if it is implantation spotting but still too early to test! sounds like it might also be to early to be implantation too. Definitely not AF though cuz I'm only at 6 dpi today.

What I find super frustrating with this whole TTC process is I never felt so called phantom symptom when I wasn't TTC nor did I ever spot mid cycle.....why is it your body plays tricks on you when it counts!!!! ---end vent

I had spotting 5 dpo. More spotting after BFP. Bled a lot with first pregnancy very early through 8 wks? Every colour. Sometimes very heavy. Never given an explanation!

What everyone else said.. Are you charting/temping to confirm O? Implantation bleeding is rare and can usually only be pinpointed after you get a BFP. Definitely check out the TTGP board. Lurk for a while and you will learn a lot from the ladies there.

One piece of advice: please, please do NOT ask if you are experiencing implantation bleeding over there. If you dare to do so, prepare to be flamed.

Thanks and duley noted. I have been following the TTC+35 board which generally seems kinder with stupid questions. I am charting and tempting and opk for the past few months.....(TTC for over a year but not diligently)....with those three and the fact I'm pretty regular ever since getting off bcp I am pretty sure I know exactly when I o'ed....didn't get a lot of BD in but it was probably the best timing we have had ever....so I'm super hopeful!
