    My DD has a strong independent streak too. I usually say something like "1 climb down from the table , 2 climb down from the table, 3 climb down from the table".  Counting with the repeated instruction after each number gives her time to actually listen and act on what I am asking her to do.

    Counting has also helped DS1 to understand as well.

    10.2015 - loss at 12 wks
