Baby Names

Need help with a boy's name!!!

We are due in 6 weeks with our son, we had a name set in stone....Graham Michael.

My husband's brother passed away unexpectedly so we decided we wanted to change the middle name to Todd, but I don't really think Graham Todd goes together.  We have thought about Jameson Todd.....

PLEASE HELP!!!

Our daughter's name is Parker Kay, so we don't do common!

  • I think Graham Todd is fine, meaning trumps flow IMO.

  • Graham Todd is fine.

I don't think Parker or Graham are uncommon...
  • Please don't do Jameson.

Graham Todd is fine! And I agree with PP-they are not uncommon names.

  • What was your BIL's mn? That might be a good compromise if you don't like Graham with Todd.
Started adoption process in Jan. 2011.
    3 failed matches in 2012.
    Surprise pregnancy in Aug. 2012.
Precious baby boy "HC" born May 2013.
    Began researching EA in 2014.
No longer pursuing EA due to fibroid complications.
Officially on the adoption home study wait list.

  • His name was Jeremy Todd, but went by Todd.
  • This may be a little far fetched, but my FIL is named Todd... and I love the idea of naming children after family members. Anyway, he doesn't like the name Todd, nor does my DH. But if you look up the meaning of Todd, it's Fox. I think Fox is pretty cool for a middle name, but still has the connection to Todd.

It's something I've thought of for us, but obviously not for everyone! :)

I understand now why the fox in the Fox and the Hound was named Todd.

FWIW OP, I think Graham Todd sounds fine. I also like the suggestion of Graham Michael Todd. We almost double middle named our son, but decided to save that mn for our next boy.

  • Graham Todd is fine.  It's not as great of flow as Graham Michael but meaning trumps flow.  Also, Jameson is bad.
  • Def would keep Graham over Jameson. But also love @DaisyZH suggestion of Elijah Todd, that has a really nice flow to it. Meaning trumps flow but you have a point with Graham Todd not meshing as well...

Other thoughts...I clearly am drawn to the 3 syllable names.

    Alexander Todd
    Dominic Todd
    Donovan Todd
    Elliott Todd
    Atticus Todd
    Oliver Todd
    Finnegan Todd

  • I think if Graham is the name you like, just use it!  Graham Todd is not that bad and you could possibly regret changing the first name at the last minute.  FWIW Graham Jeremy is really nice, even though I know he didn't really go by it, it was still his name... I think I like that the most.
  • My son is Graham Joseph. Can you use your DH's brothers mn as a mn for Graham instead of his fn?

  • Just saw your post about his fn being Jeremy. I think Graham Jeremy is precious!

  • I don't think it flows but because it has family significance I would use it.
