Skipped solids-only had formula, now diarrhea

So my lo has been eating solids twice a day. Cereal in the morning and a puree for dinner.  Well Monday night, we got home extremely late so he only had his formula.  Tuesday morning he didn't get a chance to eat his cereal b/c we had to leave @ 5am.  Well throughout the day he pooped really liquidy.  I'm wondering if this is b/c he only had formula?  But I also read it can be a food allergy.  Anyone have any thoughts?

no, it was super runny.

Could be a little bug, but yeah. Solids = more firm poop
