Pregnant after IF

~*~ 2nd Tri Check-in (9/23) ~*~

This is a weekly check-in for PAIF members in their second trimester. You can feel free to join at 14 weeks and we will bid you an excited farewell on your way to 3rd Tri after 27 weeks.

If there are any newcomers that would like to be added to the list, post below and include your EDD.

- How far along are you this week?
- Any appointments or other updates?

Also, please let me know if I have your “team” listed correctly or if it needs to be updated.

QOTW:  Time to AW your SO!  What's your favorite thing about your SO, the thing that first drew you to him/her? What's your favorite memory with your SO? Bonus points for PIP!

***Graduating to the 3rd Tri next week!!! Good Luck! ***

These are a repeat from last week - apparently I was sending people to 3rd Tri AT 27 weeks rather than AFTER 27 weeks - whoops! So this is your encore week - come for one last check-in so we can say goodbye!

  • @Southernyankeegirl I had the 1 hr glucose test this morning. I didnt get to pick but I got orange too. Its not what Id call yummy, but it didnt make me gag either. It was... ok. Good luck in 2 weeks- I'll be thinking about you.

Speaking of that- I wanted to share a story. I love my Quest Girls. Along this 3 year journey to being a mom, I've spent many hours getting lab work done. One of the techs has been on the same journey. She's suffered numerous miscarriages- couldn't make it past 6 weeks. Her uterus wasn't strong enough to hold. I felt immense guilt telling her I was pregnant. At today's glucose test, she walked in and asked what I did for morning sickness- she is 9 weeks! 9 weeks!! She passed the 8 week test and goes back at 12. We all cried and hugged. I am over the moon for her. I'm taking her a care package of jazz that worked for me tomorrow. Just another reminder to not give up hope and be grateful we are on the pregnant after IF forum.

SO talking. Justin is a dude. I appreciate that, He can build/fix/make anything. He thrives off helping people. He is extremely quiet as he is a judging people watcher, but when he breaks out- it is meaningful, hilarious, and saractic. He was so supportive during IVF and now with pregnancy. He'll rub lotion on my feet which is huge since he isnt very romantic. Its practial feel good! We've been dating - ish for 10-11 years now so back in the day I thought he looked like Jordan from New Found Glory and I was/am a huge fan of them (Love punk music). A couple memories stick out. Our honeymoon in Playa del Carmen was amazing, we had so much low key fun that whole week. And when we bought our house we couldnt have been more united or lucky. We had about 20 people helping us move/clean/paint/ etc and we're asked so many questions and we agreed seemlessly on everything. Great teamwork moment.

Long post. Sorry ladies, apparently Im rambley today. Have a good one!

  • Happy Tuesday!

Not much to report here.  I am excited and nervous for the a/s tomorrow!  I am praying for a healthy little one.  I am so glad DH will be able to go with me.  Hopefully I don't forget to tell them asap we do NOT want to know the sex of the baby.  I'm also hoping the baby cooperates.  He/she was very stubborn for the NT scan & we had to go back a week later for a redo.

SO: He is the most patient, kind & loving person I have ever met.  He never ceases to amaze me at how giving of himself he can be.  There are so many good memories over the years, I honestly don't think I can pick just one.  I will say I look forward to our cozy evening at home together the most.  Like last night, DH came home from work, and he helped me bake apple pies & cook stuffed peppers (he did a lot of peeling/cutting/chopping ;) last night).  We had the fireplace going, candles lit & just talked & enjoyed each others company, along with the whippets of course!

  • @runawaylaurel - Our anatomy scan was at 18w1d. For us there was no issue because the baby was measuring a week ahead and moving around a lot. Sometimes when the scan is earlier, it can be more difficult to get all of the shots they need so some people need to go back for a second check. Of course, that can happen at a later time too if the baby isn't cooperating so I wouldn't worry about it!

I am doing much better than last week, my hgb was a little low and the shortness of breath is better I still have a heard time walking to far tho. And my director called back and said they had found a way to meet the accommodations the dr had written for. Which I think was another way of saying someone over my head told me I would find a way to accommodate you but even still I now have an 8hr day sitting job on my floor. I know I won't be able to work till the end but at least I have it until I need to go out for good. My parents have been staying with us to help out but since im nearing 24weeks (this Thur) they will be leaving soon. My 24weeks apt went great babies are growing right in target and are little busy bees moving all the time.

I am very uncomfortable but love watching my bump grow and move now that I can see every movement they make from outside. My shower is the second week in oct and I'm just hoping I continue to do really well so I can travel 2 hours to it. I would be pretty disappointed if I had to miss the shower I've always dreamed of but never thought id have! But if course being these babies here safely is my priority and ill be fine if my family ends up having to bring the gifts to me instead :-)

Almost forgot, DH, my favorite thing about him is he is always thinking of me and making me happy, every decision he makes he thinks of me first, his main concern is to always be able to provide for our family and he will be a great dad. My fav memories are going to braves games that's one think he loves and I love enjoying that with him.

  • Hello ladies! 18w 5d today and I believe the little critter poked me last night, LOL! I'm pretty sure I've been feeling little "somethings" for the last couple of days, but last night was the first time I was absolutely sure it had been the LO. weird and cool all at the same time. Hubby was asleep, so all I could do was lay in bed smiling like a goof ball. Other than that, plugging right along.
As for DH....he's the most supportive person I know. We have known each other for just under 20 years now, and he has been my biggest cheerleader in life. He has always believed in me and pushed me to follow my dreams. I can't think of a "favorite" moment....there have been so many over the years!
Never tried PIP, so let's see if this works...this is the furniture but with a tall dresser instead. And my inspiration is this room with slightly different colors. I found an owl fabric that I fell in love with and am using as accents in curtains, crib skirt and possibly some pillows for whatever seating I end up using

Testing found positive cardiolipins/APS, now on lovenox and intralipid infusions
Transfer of 2 5-day blasts and (FINALLY) BFFP!! 1st ultrasound shows two sacs and two HB, but one is sluggish, almost expecting vanishing twin Subsequent ultrasound confirmed vanishing twin, but my other Little critter looks fantastic!

  • Good morning ladies! I love reading the updates!

@southernyankeegirl Thanks for the well wishes! I will def. update Friday! Have so much fun at your shower & with your family!

Good luck to everyone getting their a/s this week!!

AFM: 20w1day Woot! Feeling great.. lots of movement! Co-workers are finally starting to notice the bump lol, honestly I don't know how they missed it all this time. A/S is Friday & I'm anxious, but I am so excited for DH to get to see them finally. He's never seen them move around in there or look like actual babies ha.

QOTW: My DH is just amazing. He's the best man I know & he's the most genuinely good hearted person I've ever met (he's pretty handsome too). He's my best friend & he's been so supportive of our entire journey. I know he will be an amazing father. My favorite memory, I would have to say, is our wedding ceremony. We were saying our vows & he had tears in his eyes & a smile on his face. I've never seen him cry in all 8 years.. he doesn't show emotions like that often. I will never forget it. <3

  • Hi Ladies!  I am 22 weeks, 4 days today.  Am feeling good, but definitely getting more tired / run down by the end of the day (though I guess that is normal)

I am finally starting to think about / work on the nursery.  I am starting to clean out the guest room closet and we are going to go look at cribs this weekend (hopefully).

QOTW: I met my DH 8 years ago.  What I think drew me to him is he is just such a nice, honest and caring guy.  He really cares about family - both his and mine - and values his friendships.  And he has been amazing the past several years - with fertility treatments and then with my pregnancy - really taking care of me, etc.

Hope everyone has a great week.

  • 21 weeks, 2 days. No new updates except I'm feeling her move finally! Or at least I think it's movement. Sometimes it feels like my stomach is twitching and others I feel movement in there. Yes, I've been going a little crazy with the shopping BUT everything I've been buying has been on sale so that's ok, right? ;) Also, a very generous woman who is finished having children (who had all girls), has been giving me bags and bags of clothing, I'm so thankful! DH and I have been together 15 years, and although we've been through so much already (deaths, cancer, unemployment, IF), It has made us stronger and appreciate things so much more. I just hope the worst is behind us and better days are to come!

I passed my GD test!  Yay :)  Just came back from my appointment for compression stockings, learned I get 4 pair a year through my insurance!  My one varicose vein has gotten worse with pregnancy....ugh...genetics.....

I will be 25 weeks tomorrow!  I just got an invitation in the mail for my baby shower in November, it is super cute, got me all excited.

We also put a wall decal in our nursery and finally bought a rug!  Yay :)  I think we are pretty much done, just need to see what we get from showers to fill the rest of the room.

Thinking about scheduling a 3D ultrasound in the next few weeks.  Our local place gives you a DVD of ultrasound, teddy bear with heart beat sound, lots of colored and black and white pictures.  Figured it would be part of going all out on this pregnancy :P

QOTW:  I love that my hubby is super smart, he just amazes me with all his random knowledge every single day.  Favorite memory, so many to choose from, from traveling to Rome, Paris, and London, to getting married, to the day we found out we were pregnant, love them all.

    • April 18th: Received news 2 out of 3 eggs fertilized!
    •  Planned 3dt: Easter day, transferred two 8B embryos and received pictures :)
    • BFP starting 8dp3dt 5/1 Beta #1: 87, 5/3 Beta #2 206

    • EDD 1/8/15

  • Aw! All your stories made me tear up! (And I'm seriously holding back on crying - hormones!)

AFM: I'm 23 weeks today! Only 1 more week to v-day and maybe I'll feel like I can breathe better! I decided to go for a/s part 3. Thankfully, my mom said she could take me from work to the doctor's. So, Imma take a half day on 10-1. Also, she's been moving so much now - I kinda wanna see her move, just one more time.

QOTW: What first drew me to DH was his personality. He seemed caring, kind and really nice. He wasn't my type at all (look wise) but I decided to give it a shot since he had a nice persona. The thing that made me really get attached to him was when I banged my head and went to the hospital. It was during Christmas time and he didn't wanna leave my room - eventually he got kicked out tho. But he was the last one to leave and the first one there in the morning. Coincidentally, he also won over my family big time. I'll never forget it! He's gonna be a great father!

  • 21 weeks now. Started feeling little girl move in the last week. What a wonderful feeling! I was told I'll have to do a sevond GD test around 28 weeks. That sucks, but I know I'm a higher risk so it's okay

QOTW: my hubby is amazing! He works so hard to be a great husband and a great father. He strives to understand me no matter what my mood or where I'm coming from.

I still think one of the best moments with him was when I was walking down the aisle at our wedding and all I could see was him and he was tearing up, and I was tearing up. I'll never forget that moment.

  • 23w1d! I thought I could tell which one was which, but now I'm just not sure!

I had a bp scare on Monday that landed me in labor & delivery. My bp was 165/104. I was there for about 5 1/2 hours before they could finally get it down to a reasonable number. Scared the crap out of me! I'm on 81mg aspirin and "taking it easy" as much as possible. Turns out I also have an iron deficiency, so yay for iron supplements! Next appointment is on Sept. 30th.

QOTW: The hubs and I have been together since 8th grade. Nope, not kidding! We met in our Orchestra class. He plays cello, I play violin. Obviously we were made for each other =] He is incredibly caring. He will (literally) give you the shirt off his back and the shoes off his feet if you need them. He doesn't think twice when it comes to helping anyone. He works so incredibly hard and I'm so proud of him! One huge thing that kind of made me fall even more in love with him was after Monday's bp scare. I was at work, he was at home with a sinus infection. I called and said, "Come get me...my blood pressure is..." before I even got "high" out of my mouth he was already saying "I'm walking out the door now." I could tell the moment we got our BFP that he is going to be a great daddy!

    Married 2007
    3 Clomid IUIs -- BFNs
IVF #1 never made it to transfer
    On "egg health" cocktail DHEA/CoQ10/FRC/Pregnitude/Melatonin
Starting IVF #2 for Feb 2013
    Follistim/Menopur/Ganirelix
Cancelled mid-cycle due to high P4 levels early on.
OCPs again for IVF 2.5 mid-March. IVF 2.5 transferred two "gorgeous" 5-day blasts and BFFN. Even REI is baffled
On indefinite hold until a huge stroke of serendipity led me to IVF 3 May 2014
Testing found positive cardiolipins/APS, now on lovenox and intralipid infusions

  • Anatomy scan went great yesterday. We are staying team green until the end.
DH is so patient with me. He puts up with my garbage and always makes me laugh. One of my favorite memories was when he proposed. He took my to Paris for my 30th birthday and got down on one knee in a garden at Versailles. He was so nervous it was adorable. He always goes out of his way to make me happy. He was so supportive after our losses. I wouldn't have survived this journey with anyone else.
