No ovulation on medicated cycle? Help?

OK, so I know a lot of people don't temp on medicated cycles because the meds can influence BBT. That said, just look at my horrible chart (in my signature)! 

I thought it was nearly impossible not to respond to the trigger shot, but I certainly don't see any kind of temp shift after my supposed O date on CD 12.  Is it possible that, after all that work to grow four follicles, I just didn't ovulate? X(

Or could I have ovulated before the trigger? The dominant follicle was still in place on the morning of CD 9, but although I took Ganirelix that night, I can't vouch for its whereabouts after that.  I still had a blazing positive opk on the morning of CD 10 (I stopped taking them after that because the trigger would have given false +s anyway).

All of these temperatures are suspect; I've been extremely sleep deprived, taking my temp at all hours and almost never after 3 hours uninterrupted sleep.  Still, even under circumstances like this, I've always had a temp shift.

What gives?

ETA: I did have strong o-type pains following the trigger shot.  These kind of hit their high point ~36 hours later--exactly when I should have ovulated--and then started to subside.  They were gone by CD 13.  But I don't think o-pain is a very reliable indicator

Anyone?  I know this is probably a better question for TTTC or another board where people have more experience with medicated cycles, but I hate to ask a bunch of strangers (well, even stranger strangers--you know what I mean) to pore over my chart.  And I'm not sure it's good form to intro anywhere new during the 2WW...

Does the dr. confirm levels via bloodwork to see if you ovulated or not? It seems like mine did that. I'm sorry, I didn't temp once we started treatments, I had gotten irritated with it while ttc because I never had a shift, since I wasn't ovulating on my own.

Sorry if you're stuck in the waiting game now, but don't stress, like you said the temps are suspect and maybe the meds screw them up. Good luck.

If you haven't been temping after 3 hours of sleep, I'm not sure how accurate your temps can be. If I ignore the medicated/IUI aspect and just pretend the chart is someone temping and using OPKs, I'd say you ovulated CD10, or possibly CD11. If you ignore the open circle, your chart actually shows a temp shift I think.

PS: I'm not an expert!

ETA: CD13 could also be O day. It's hard to say, FX for you!

Thanks, ladies!   @bearfootz, they didn't do a progesterone test last time, but I will be getting one Thursday.  I'm not totally clear on how that will work accurately since I'm on progesterone supplements, but since they're suppositories, they swear it will.


@obscurereference, yeah, that seems logical, and the open circle temp was even less reliable than the rest.  But that makes me wonder about the o pains on CD 12.  If a person ovulates a dominant follicle on her own shortly before the trigger kicks in, will the trigger still release other mature follicles?  You'd think the progesterone from the first corpus luteum would interfere with that... :-/

For what it's worth, I honestly thought I was getting my period this last cycle b/c I had a huge temp dip. I told my nurse and she said I should not be temping with medicated cycles and to expect the numbers to be all over the place.

I agree with @obscurereference. Your chart is difficult to interpret, but I would have chosen CD10.

ETA: Aren't you glad you're temping again? (sarcasm)

Yes, it's very rewarding.  (deadpan sincerity)

Just out of curiosity I switched the ovulation detector on FF to "research," and it gave me crosshairs on CD 11.  I'm happy with that possibility, since I think it still allows for multiple ovulation via the trigger.  It's not great for the IUI timing, but we had pleeeennnty of sex, too, and I don't think DH's sperm needed an assist.  Yay?

So apparently I did ovulate.  I had my 7 DPO (this is assuming ovulation as predicted by the trigger) progesterone test today, and my level was 24.   My RE, like most, likes to see >15 for a medicated cycle.  She agrees that I might have ovulated on my own before the trigger kicked in, but thinks the other 3 mature follicles would have released their eggs (assuming they were in there) with the trigger.  She's actually pretty optimistic about my chances this cycle.  So--good.

As much as I do advocate temping in general, I think temping on a medicated cycle with a trigger will just confuse you and stress you out so "try" not to worry about it ( I know it is impossible).

Yeah, the RE said that she tells everyone not to, but that almost everybody does anyway.  I actually hate temping even without the meds, but it's hard to give up the illusion of control...
