Can we talk about thrush? I saw in your IMMS post that you're getting a script for Diflucan.  My Mastitis has not cleared up properly--I still have a lump that won't go away so I have to have an U/S and in the midst of all this I noticed my nipple getting more sore. Then I started having shooting pains in my breast.  I was hoping it wasn't thrush but I think it would be ignorant to think it's not. Last night my nipple started burning a bit, like I wanted to put ice on it and nursing is getting more painful. LE also started making a clicking sound, which I read is one of the symptoms.  My MW is prescribing me Diflucan and Newman's cream for the nipples...

I called the Ped and of course the nurse said they won't treat LE b/c he has no symptoms. I told her about the clicking and then all the things that were going on with me. She said she would talk to the LC and get back to me.  Are both of you being treated? What are your symptoms?

Bless your heart, you are having a tough month!! I have to call my pedi tomorrow to see if L needs treatment, too. He's got a diaper rash, but I am not sure if it's yeast or wetness sensitivity. Otherwise he shows no symptoms. I'm going to treat his diapers just in case.

My symptoms have been very painful nipples for the most part. It's excruciating when he latches and continues to hurt a lot as he nurses. My nipples are always tender, and any kind of movement against them hurts like crazy. I just started my first dose of meds tonight. I'm really hoping to get some relief soon. I hope yours clears, too! This nursing business is no walk in the park!

Well the LC called me back and said even though he probably doesn't have it we will treat anyways so I started with that yesterday. Lots of fun! Sounds like you've got some serious pain going on, I hope the Diflucan helps.
