NOT IN limbo anymore! (8.8hcg)- tentative intro: UPDATE #3 :)

Hi, ladies!!  After a few very faint hpt's, I decided to call my RE this morning.  As expected, he wanted to do a blood draw.  I was expecting it to be low, but wasn't prepared for 8.8 hcg.  On the bright side, Crinone is working because my progesterone is at 27.  I know we shouldn't compare current pregnancies with previous ones, but considering my hcg has been in the 100's and 200's at 12DPO in the past, it's hard to be 100% optimistic.  I have a second draw on Wednesday morning, so I know that number doubling is what's most important.  Unfortunately, I also know that I'll be in a state of limbo until we have a couple more draws and a 6-7 week scan.

I've had reason to worry with each pregnancy (this is my fourth), but never quite this early on.  I'm 12DPO, LMP was on Aug. 23.  I know in my head that numbers have to start somewhere, that it's still pretty early, and that only time will tell.  Not only is my pregnancy in limbo, but so are my emotions.  I'm not letting myself get excited yet, but I'm also trying to retain a healthy level of optimism.  Any success stories out there with hcg THIS low?  I would feel better with 25, or a number even approaching that... but being so close to 5?

Thanks in advance for the support.  MH is a coach which leaves me home alone for about 4.5 hours every afternoon/evening.  I can't tell you how much I appreciate having you all to turn to.  A special thanks to the TTCAL ladies for all of the support for the past 3 1/2 months... I don't know where I'd be without you, and I know you'll be there for me if this does not lead to our rainbow.

UPDATE #1

Results of today's beta: 27.8!  Grow, baby, grow!!  I'm thrilled at the tripled numbers, but we're still not "out of the woods" so to speak.  The RE wants me to have another draw on Friday... so another day of pins and needles!  I'm definitely embracing, "Today I am pregnant, and I love my baby!"  Thank you ALL for all of your t&p's... keep them up, 'cause it's working ladies!!

HCG is now 111  I was hoping for 100, which would have been more than tripled... we got quadruple numbers instead!!!  Also, some divine intervention... the lab accidentally ran my estrogen levels, which had not been ordered.  Good thing, because they're low!  I am starting supplements tonight, starting 2-a-days tomorrow.   THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for your continued positive thoughts and prayers... I'm a firm believer in their power!  

UPDATE #3

So I thought I was going to have to wait until tomorrow for results, but they posted them online tonight!!  (online medical chart)  I had been aiming high for 800, but secretly hoping for 1000.  WELL... add them together and you have our results!!  1880.7!!!  We're doubling every 24 hours!!!!  I am SOOOOO relieved!!  Just out of curiosity... has anyone had this rate of increase?  Seems so crazy to me that we went from tripling numbers and are now holding steady at quadrupling numbers!!  (every 48 hours)

With my last pregnancy, I went in at 10DPO (after a positive but faint test), and I believe my HCG was 8 (although it may have been 16, I can't seem to find it).  I went on to have a very healthy, uneventful pregnancy, so definitely try to stay positive!

At 15dpo, my (1st) beta was 50. 16dpo my beta was 84.6. 18dpo, it was 232. With a rise like that, I can only speculate my beta was really low on 12dpo when I also had a negative FRER. With my 2 previous pregnancies, I turned a FRER at 10 and 12 dpo, so I was sure that was a bad sign. Don't forget late implantation can also be reason for low betas early on. 

Fingers crossed for you that your beta on Wed shows a very good rise!!

I don't know about betas, but I do know every pregnancy is different so I'd stay positive. I couldn't even turn a FRER positive on the day of my expected period (13 DPO) this time around and I'm still here!

Thank you for sharing this!  I would be THRILLED for this to be the only "eventful" part of this pregnancy!  Maybe if I get the stress and uncertainty over with early, it'll be smooth sailing through 9 months!   [-O<

I had a very low hcg reading at my 12DPO draw.  I think the nurse said something like it was an "ambiguous" result...  :-/.  But here I am!  It all has to start somewhere!!  FX for excellent numbers at your next draw!!

Agreed! I thought I was out for sure that cycle because the FRER are sooo sensitive, blah blah. Last time I trust them!

We are right on the same page! My LMP was 8/22 and today I'm 14dpo. I had my first blood draw for betas this afternoon, so I'll keep you posted. I know it's hard to be optimistic, and I'm sorry you also find yourself in this state of limbo. But tentative congrats to you, huge ((hugs)), and please keep me posted!

11 DPO mine was 9. They tripled every 48 hours early on and we got a heart beat at 6 1/2 weeks. I'm 8 1/2 weeks now and so far so good could be totally normal!

Keeping fingers crossed for you! This one started at 24 for me, and I've never made it this far along before. The last miscarriage started at 650! I really think pregnancies can vary a lot in terms of HCG in the system.

Thanks for sharing that, @pblge and @dragonbb!  My numbers for both m/c's that I got betas for were excellent, so high doesn't necessary = a rainbow.  Here's to our LO's going the distance after being a bit "slow to warm up!"

My CP measured at 7 (if I'm remembering correctly), but I had already started bleeding about a week and a half after my BFP.  I was curious last night, so I took a FR digital test after only about 2.5 hours of holding in... it said "yes+" so I'm cautiously optimistic that that means it's going up instead of down
