12 month old waking up screaming/crying

For the past two weeks, my 12 month old baby girl has been waking up at 12-12:30 screaming and and crying. It's been happening every night and I have no idea what to do. She's not hungry, her diaper is changed and her tummy is fine. I'm sure she's having teething problems, but I don't know what else to do. She doesn't want me to hug her, play with her and she also has a "go-to" show that she loves to watch, but she doesn't want that either. My husband was reading about night terrors and nightmares. Is there anyone dealing with this as well? How do you cope with it? I let her lay with me in the dark and let her cry it out til she falls asleep, but is there anything else I could do?

When my DD acts like that it is always because of teething. It's really bad with top teeth and molars. I cuddle her ( but many times she doesn't even want that ) so I give her Motrin, rock her if she sits still and put her back in her crib and even though she's crying she always passes out in about 5 mins.

She is really young for night terrors; I'd be genuinely surprised if that were causing this behavior.  Night terrors are also more similar to sleep walking than to waking up upset, so she wouldn't acknowledge you, more so just look terrified and scream. 

Have you tried letting her CIO?  What happens if you do?  How long does she cry?  Is there something that might have started waking her, like a neighbor coming home then and slamming a door or a train going by? 

DD always wakes around 4, but she usually wants me to BF her, and DD did this for a while but usually wanted to be rocked.

She actually cries less when I leave her alone and let her cry. Like last night, I just brought her to my room and let her lay beside me but I don't hug her or quietly shhh her and just let her cry and she doesn't cry long bit if I try to soothe her and hold and hug her, she starts crying even more. Maybe it's the molars! I hear they are the worst!

I would give Motrin or infant Advil before u go to sleep. Not when she goes to sleep

DS was the same way, I got a small night light after reading that sometimes around a year they can start to have a fear of the dark. Over the weekend I heard him wake up, talk to his stuffed animals, then go back to sleep. Good Luck!!!!
