Pumping/client meeting....

I will have meetings at a client scheduled from 9-12:30 in a couple of weeks... Trying to work out a pump scheduled. Should I pump before at 8:30 then at 12:30 (hoping meetings don't run late) or should I ask for a break between meetings? I'm thinking the first option but don't want to risk hurting my supply or getting too engorged.

Re: Pumping/client meeting....

  • I would do option 1. How about giving it a trial run prior to that day?

  • Depending on how old baby is, I'd do option 1.  Once K was about 6 months or so, I could mess with my pumps like that without an issue for a few days at a time, at least.

  • I would pump before and after. 4-4.5 hours should be ok, especially once your body gets used to it. If the meeting does run over, how long might it last? If you see that it's getting close to end time but you are half way done you may want to suggest at end time that you take a 15 minute break. Also make sure to put in some pads in your bra just in case you leak because it's a longer space than you are used to.

  • Thanks ladies! I'll do option one with a trial the day before- also good idea to bring my handpump too! If we happen to get a long enough break in between meetings (3 total) I may be able to end up pumping in between.
